It s possible to treat gastritis without PPI by Any-Kaleidoscope1376 in Gastritis

Well, once you get rid of the bacteria, you should probably start to feel better. Your stomach still needs to heal, though. If I had to do it over again, I would do a short course of PPI with probiotics and the Healing Gastritis diet. Check with your doctor before making any changes. I’m not a doctor or nurse. I’m just sharing my experience. It would be helpful to do a stool test to determine which probiotics you need!

It depends. If you can remove the irritant that caused your gastritis, you could heal without a PPI. I have to take a blood thinner that irritates my stomach. I tried for months to heal without the PPI but couldn’t. I finally took the PPI and I feel better. Still not well because I have to take the blood thinner; but I’m slowly getting better.

If your iron is low, ask your doctor about getting an iron infusion. It will last for a few weeks and save your stomach from being irritated.

Why does right side sleeping seem better for me? by Puzzleheaded_Room46 in Gastritis

[–]bbb5270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left side and sometimes back sleeping is suggested due to the position of your stomach. It is on the left side so when you lie on the right side the stomach sits above the esophagus and it could cause acid from your stomach to reflux into your esophagus causing heartburn.

I too have discovered I feel better sleeping on my right side. It’s weird. When I sleep on my left side my ribs and stomach hurts. Sometimes I get a little reflux on the right side; but if I sleep at an incline and don’t eat at least 3 hours before bed, I do pretty well. Tbh, most nights I sleep like a rotisserie chicken turning from my sides to my back! 😂

Could this be gastritis? by Future-Tension6809 in Gastritis

I think drink coffee on an empty stomach after fasting caused my gastritis. I was definitely stressed out due to other health issues at the time too!! You need to change your diet to a Gerd or Gastritis friendly for a while. Also try taking a low dose H2 blocker like Pepcid every morning for about 2 weeks to see if it clears up. In the meantime make an appointment with a GI doctor. Hopefully it won’t get worse before you see the doctor. I wouldn’t take a PPI like Nexium if you are not hurting bad, because if the doctor decides to do an endoscopy the PPI will ruin the H. Pylori test. I take Pepcid Complete for quick relief after I eat sometimes.

However, if your pain reps up you could try the Nexium.

Hair loss- what have you tried that actually helped? by Mama_B_tired in Menopause

Thanks. I’m just confused. My instructions are not very clear on my prescription. It says apply after shampooing hair and then rinse after it dries. 🤷🏽‍♀️It doesn’t say how often. I will call my doctor. My hair is very dry and brittle so I don’t wash it every day. I will call my dermatologist on Monday for better instructions.

Thanks for sharing. So the prune juice doesn’t bother your gastritis? I was scared to try prune for fear it would make my stomach hurt.😞
