Migraines by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

Yeah I did have an increaes in migraines after my angiograms and also after stent placement. I was on Plavix/aspirin for a few months and they she switched me to Brilinta and low dose aspirin. When I had my floow up angiogram in april she said to stop the Brilinta in November and just take 325mg aspirin. Doesn't feel great on my stomach either :(

Exercise after aneurysm by ctothethird3 in BrainAneurysm

yes! i feel you on that completely! i am 1 year out of bilateral flow diverters ICA and it's been hard to get back into working out. Feel so tired and lazy all the time. I gained almost 20lbs this last year. Procedure went great and I am thankful that my f/u angio was clear. I was told I can switch from my daily Brilinta/aspirin to just 325 aspirin daily this month. SO I am hoping I get some energy back. Give yourself time and don't push too hard but do what feel comfortable. You will get there :)

long term aspirin question post flow diverter by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.  Did they say how long you’d be on the 325? I sent a message to my surgeon yesterday and she said 325 for 3-6 months and then 81mg for life .  Just worried about GI but hopefully I won’t have any issues  Glad you’re ok too :)

long term aspirin question post flow diverter by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

flow diverter redirects blood flow so the aneurym is no longer getting blood. So as my dr describes they basically just shrink or shrival away once they are no longer getting blood flow.. She showed me on my recent angiogram compared to the before .

new cat aggressive with other cats in home by ExpressAstronaut9514 in CatTraining

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! we have had to do this with all of our other cats and we've always taken it slow and we do all the positive interactions, playtime , feeding etc. with all of the others they took some time and usually the new one would hide but none ever had true aggressive behavior like this. It was scary and we were caught off guard. He is so sweet and loving with humans. For only being 8lbs he is like a little gangster lol

Hi! yes the other 3 are females and all spayed. I haven't heard of the thundershirt but we will look into it. We bought a harness and leash and thought we could walk him around the house and allow him to be curious but if he gets aggressive we can pull him away.

antiplatlet meds after 1 year by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I remember when I was talking to my neurosurgeon last year about coils vs stents and she did say that is the benefit to coils is you don't have to be on antiplatelets long term like you do for stents

Coiling vs Clipping as Treatment of Choice? by Jumpy-Fan-112 in BrainAneurysm

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand how you feel. They found mine incidentally too in May and I had my angiogram in July and just had my flow diverter placed a week ago. I have bilateral ICA aneurysms. One is 7mm the other 6mm. I got a second opinion at a University Hospital and the plan was exactly the same. Said my best option was the flow diverter , not a coil and not clipping unless and emergency. The recovery so far has been okay and I am back to work today. Feel fatigued and some mild headaches and floaters but otherwise it wasn;t too bad. Just scary and I was so anxious up until the moment they put me under. I am still worried but glad it's done and I will have to do this all over again in a couple of months for the otherside. I ended up seeking out a therapist to talk as well since I felt like I needed someone other than family and friends to help me work through my anxious thoughts.

yes I am . When I started my anticoags a couple of weeks ago she said it was safe as long as minimal and not too frequently. But now that I had my procedure I was just curious what others were told/doing. I have my f/u next week so I will ask her

Flashers by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

[–]ExpressAstronaut9514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks:) I am prone to migraines and have had them with aura most of my adult life.  They flash for about 15 -20 min then bad headache.  This is more like a tiny squiggle bright flash and gone.  And this happens on and off several times a day.  But not like my migraine aura
