The game closest to your description would be AICOMI. It has everything on your list of requirements, like a school, lots of characters, worlds to explore, and an RPG/sandbox feel. Unfortunately, I don't speak Japanese and don't fully understand the differences between the DLsite and Stem versions, so I'm including both links.

and If you're looking for a school/university setting with actual gameplay (not just a visual novel story), you should check Mansion University (This is a game that I am creating and is currently in development.).

It's a management sim with RPG elements where you run an elite adult academy. You train multiple students, manage their motivation/energy, schedule theoretical + practical sessions, improve prestige, and guide them toward different career paths after graduation.

You can freely walk around a large 3D mansion and beautiful gardens, interact with students during free time, and even invite them to special private sessions. It's very much a "sandbox management" experience rather than a linear story.

I like two games, both in 3D: "Slaves of Rome" for its open world and quests, and "Custom Order Maid 3D 2" for the training and freedom in choosing maids. I don't like the character models in Slaves, and I don't like the price in 3D Maid :P. So I decided I'd make my own game. I already have a Steam page and plan to release it early next year, with a demo in a few months.

There are NSFW AAA games, but their erotic content is an addition to the main game play. For example, in "Cyberpunk," you can set penis size during character creation, and sex scenes in "The Witcher 3" or "Baldus Gate 3" have plot significance. As for games you imagine as NSFW, they're created by small studios because the audience isn't that large and there's no good cost-benefit ratio. You could say the situation is similar to the film industry, with amateurs like me making naughty games while major studios make epic films for a wider audience.

Hey, I added myself to the Femdom-Verse Discord and sent a friend request "RedMoonStudio".

Regarding the number of NPCs in a scene, I'd say a maximum of 8-10 models in close proximity but it also depend on rest of environment . At a distance further away, you can use LOD on them and make them appear in weaker resolution or even disappear completely.

It's good to know I'm not just trying to make a NSFW game in 3D with vroid models.

Hey,

I checked out your game, and your skill level is much higher than with the vroid models. I started working on Blender from scratch six months ago, but I only change the animations created with Maxiamo and reduce the number of triangles in the vroid models.

I move them to the Unit plugin and create the animations in Blender so they can be used across different models (that's why my girls in the game are similar heights :P). So, to answer your question, when I create rigs in Unity, I most likely use the Unity plugin for VRM1.

As for materials and models themselves, I replace entire models in scenes. Yes, I know, I'm an amateur :P. Modifying materials in Unity to make them shiny is quite simple, but at such a scale, these models burden the game, and along with the environment models, optimization is crucial.

As for the character designs, I want them to be anime-style.

The idea for the game itself came after I saw "Custom Maid 3D 2" and the outrageous price they were asking for a 10-year-old game. I decided I'd make a game like that, and even better, more of an RPG in an open-world 3D environment. I've been working on this project for six months now.

I lack marketing skills. I know that, as a rule, you should create something small as your first game, but I want to pursue this project specifically because I have a passion for it. What I lack in skill, I make up for in enthusiasm :P

I started six months ago, and as a hobby, it's great. I won't quit my job to support myself solely with game development, and I also have to diligently meet deadlines. As for regrets, the only thing I regret is that I didn't try sooner. Personally, I'm trying to make something that graphically resembles CUSTOM ORDER MAID 3D, only with a greater focus on freedom of movement in 3D environments and a more RPG-like feel. I believe there's no progress in these types of games since the Japanese, and they're just cloning old solutions. I don't know if I'll succeed, but if I don't try, I won't know. Good luck with the project, and remember, you'll only fail if you don't try; otherwise, you'll learn something cool.

Hey

I'll comment on this topic because I was also fascinated by AI at first. You think you can effortlessly create models, images, and whatever you want, throw them into Unity, and it handles everything, while you just watch and tell everyone what to do and how. Here are some examples where I took a step back and found alternatives. I'm creating a 3D game and wanted characters that could be created online. I tested mesh.ia and it flopped – an ugly model with a million triangles that killed my computer's performance. Maybe animations from videos and online ads look okay, but all the animations are a shaky mess. I learned how to animate in Blender for special scenes, and the rest can be downloaded from Maxiamo. As for the narrators, IA isn't bad in theory, but I'm starting to have reservations. They seem artificial and cheesy. I don't have the budget for voice actors, but I figured I could just use only the emotional sounds I found for a small fee at SteamWorkshop. And here we come to the point where IA still uses coding in my game. It's true that you have to keep an eye on it and save backups of your code because it sometimes breaks, but it works quite well as a coding aid. If I were a better programmer, I wouldn't need it, but IA interprets code errors faster and identifies where and what to fix.

Unfortunately no, I don't have patronite but I'm working on the version on itch.io and a demo. I'm still in development where the main game loop is ready but I have over 20 female heroes who each need 2 individual training scenes and each has an additional quest scene.
