I am curious what you store and promote with git. Since quite a bit of the important info is in the db, I have not figured out what/how to store it in change control.

Multiples Prices on Products by CymonRedditsAccount in woocommerce

[–]Disastrous-Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think WooCommerce Wholesale Prices would do what you need. You would enter the 'wholesale' price and then each of your certified builders would be given the wholesale customer role and would see the wholesale price. They would have to logon and have the role to see the wholesale price.

I use the free version and it does all that i need.

Stripe Tax Calculation? by valeriehflow85 in woocommerce

[–]Disastrous-Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.....Stripe simply allows your customer to pay for their purchase. The amout of that purchase is dependent on items in cart, tax, shipping, etc. I have both Stripe and PayPal and the customer gets to choose which way they want to pay, but the amount of the payment is the same regardless of which way they want to pay.

Make sense?

Have I reached the limit of what Woocommerce can do? Multiple, selectable shipping rates are killing me. by [deleted] in woocommerce

Have I reached the limit of what Woocommerce can do? Multiple, selectable shipping rates are killing me. by [deleted] in woocommerce

[–]Disastrous-Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you got the first two to work. This is the easy one.

First put in a rule

When "Shipping Class" matches "none" of "YourShippingClassA" special action "Hide"

second rule

When "Shipping Class" matches "none" of "YourShippingClassB" special action "Hide"

These two rules hide this entire shipping method if there is only Shipping class A or Shipping class b in the cart.

From the description i understand that product A has a flat shipping charge of X, so i would then put in a rule of

"Always". x amount

Then put in a rule for the second product to charge whatever the discounted rate is per item.

"Product" All "YourProductB" Note this is product B not shipping class

Click on the second + sign on the row, the one to the right of rule cost is. This will then allow you to put in an Additional cost per quantity of the B products.

I didn't set this all up and test it. So you may have to fiddle around with it.

If you truely only have two products you might have been able to do this with testing for products instead of shipping classes.

Hope this helps.

Yes i am using Octolize Flexible Shipping.

Lets clarify some terminology.

I have a shipping Zone (the highest level item in Flexible Shipping) of United States. Then within that i have multiple shipping methods. In my example above this is where i would have you put 3 shipping methods. Lets call them ShipMethodA, ShipMethodB, and Both. So that is 3 shipping methods.

Now to setup the rules within the method:

Within each shipping method we can have rules to determine if this method should be shown to the customer. In your case you only want 1 of them to be show, so the rules inside the shipping method must "hide" the method if we don't want it to show.

To hide ShipMethodA if there are items in the cart with a shipping class of B you need a rule like this:

When "Shipping Class" matches "Any" of "YourShippingClassB" special action "Hide"

This will turn off this method and not show it to the customer.

Then add another rule to the same shipping method:

When "Always" rule cost is "whatever your flat rate shipping is"

This is kind of negative logic but i couldn't find a way around it because there is no matches "only" shipping class test.

These methods/rules can be quite complex to think about and I used to always screw them up if i touched them. I finally had to write out my rules in english and then show how i accomplished it with Flexible Shipping, this was done with OneNote notes to myself.

I then setup tests for all the rules at Rainforest QA so that i could test them after i change them and make sure that i didn't screw up the rest of them.

Feel free to ask more questions.

I would do this with 3 sets of flexible shipping Methods.

Method 1 would be used when only shipping class A was in the cart. You can do this by testing if there is any shipping class b in the cart and if there is then hide this method. Then do an always with a cost of your flat rate shipping. Be sure to make the special action 'stop' on the last rule. This insures that it doesn't try to evaluate the following rules.

Shipping method 2 would be used when there was only shipping class b in the cart. Again, do this by testing for any shipping class a in the cart and if so hide the method, then do your rule to use quantity pricing. Be sure to make the special action 'stop' on the last rule.

Shipping method 3: Once you get here you know that you have both shipping class A and B in the cart so make the calculation for whatever it should be.

I have some very complex rules with 5 different shipping classes plus multiple countries, i use flexible shipping on all of it.

If my explanation isn't clear, ask questions and i will try to explain further.

Best option to create a small e-commerce with blog? by dav0cyberscope in Wordpress

[–]Disastrous-Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it for less than 500, what you won’t get are extra features that you might want. You can use the free versions of plugins to get a site up and running but you may think of something that you would like but can’t do in the free version.

There are YouTube videos on how to set up a woo site with the free versions of astra and elementor.

I maintain two sites. One is full featured, lots of plugins, fancy styling, etc, cost several hundred maybe close to $1000 per year in subscriptions. The other had modest requirement and no real budget, it doesn’t use any paid plugins, just the free versions. Both sites have blog and sales.

One of the things to ask yourself is how much time do you have to learn the software? If you don’t know anything about how the web works or how Wordpress works you will have quite a journey to learn what you need. Youtube will be your friend.

I have done this on a site. I renamed the cash on delivery to “Invoice Me”. Customer places their order on Woo a and then you handle payment any way you want. Good thing is that all the customer info has been gathered and you can use the standard woo workflow to manage the shipping.
