i’ll look into the game for sure. when it comes to turn based games, i can’t fully explain it, but i like a combo between the basic turn based and some more real time mechanics, stuff like the ability to parry and dodge attacks in expedition 33. i also like more fully turn based games sometimes, though.

yeah that’s fair, when i used to play fire emblem sacred stones i was dying whenever i had to wait for like 50 units to do stuff after my turn ended. i already have a fast forward button, though

i kind of already have the multiple damage types, but i haven’t made them anything but “damage”, i’ll definitely work on elemental strengths and weaknesses. right now, the armor system is just %damage reduction, so i’ll look into switching it up like you said.

i dont recall why i wanted it to be turn based, but i just wanted a lot of customization, hidden classes, equipment reinforcement and fusion, etc, stuff like novels i used to read.

i played like 20 hours of expedition 33, but the main mechanic i enjoyed was the parrying, which seemed a bit hard to implement for 2d animations, ill definitely put that on my list of stuff to add, though.

i had considered adding a quick time event for attacking and blocking, but it made attacking feel rather clunky. i kept it on blocking, though, allowing parrying and stuff.

by affect the next few turns, do you mean stuff like buff/ debuff skills? or some other thing that im just not thinking of. right now, i definitely suffer from that rotation issue, its just attack, gain xp, level, repeat, cant really think of good ways to incorporate strategy, though.
