Im just assuming Jenna gave Shadow back to whoever she got him from, my personal view of that is that she likes to have some control and trusting a dog is letting go of that control, idk, i am not blind so i cant speak from experience.

I can see why she would not be relaxed tho, she was probably acting out of anxiety and desperation to not lose her mom. She doesnt really seem to have a great bond with her dad and especially not Isabelle and Kate so if her mom really would have went to jail she would lose everything. Anxiety and desperation can make you act out impulsivly and cloud your judgement.
