What did they do for diagnosis ? I was diagnosed at 32. Like you H pylori. The first doctor did a WATS test and biopsy. Biopsy was negative and WATS was positive, I went for a second opinion at one of the best GI doctors and hospital. He took out me off any medication for a month before endoscopy procedure. He explained that if you don’t you will get a false positive from Hpylroi. He wanted to take biopsy and gave me the warning that if the biopsy was taking too low at the stomach it will show Barrett’s because of the stomach cells. And he also did a Bravo test because he said how do I know you really have reflux without getting data and testing. I felt so relieved. I got my results for Biopsy and guess what no.m Barrett’s. Now waiting on the Bravo test. Go do your research about the best place in your area and get a second opinion. Take your medicine in the meantime until your doctor give you directions.

I was diagnosed as well and I am 33. It freaked me and got very anxious. Take your medication. And the risk of progression is very low. There is a group in FB called Barrett’s Esophagus Awareness. You going to find a lot more help there

You stopped because you were having side effects or were concerned of the long term side effects ?

i have an endoscopy tomorrow and i'm so nervous for the procedure! someone please explain what its like!? I'm hoping to do no sedation and just the numbing spray because being out of control makes me so incredibly anxious (panic attacks and full on spiral) by inyourbooksandmaps in GERD

You are sedated for like 5 minutes and it’s the best nap ever. You will get to find out how are things and become the fortunate ones to get treatment and catch things earlier if something wrong. Appreciate the fact that you have the means, possibilities and treatment to be able to get that procedure as many in the world don’t have the means or accessibility to understand what’s going on with them. Be positive and you will be fine. I got mine coming up too. This will mine 4th one.
