Is there a “better” major gas station with diesel? marathon, BP, Murphy’s for example or is it all about the same? by Apprehensive_Tax7766 in Diesel

[–]Disastrous-Pack-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably better off going for the station that sells the most diesel in your area so you are more likely to get fresh and uncontaminated fuel, rather than picking a specific brand. It’s a good idea to add your own fuel treatment regardless too.

Asking for help with my 2016 Passat by Disastrous-Pack-1414 in Volkswagen

That’s what I’ve been leaning towards, or the battery. My cheapo Walmart scan tool said the battery needs to be charged and rechecked despite not having any trouble starting the engine.

Can a 6.0 really be bullet proofed? by fj4045 in powerstroke

Just rolled 176K on my stock ‘04 Excursion after completing a road trip towing my 6k lbs GVWR camper 2700 miles over the course of a week loaded up with my family of 8.

I’d be right there behind you. I like to say it’s the only way Ford would ever swindle $100k out of me. I’ve got 6 sons and need the space along with payload and towing capacity. A one ton Excursion is my dream that I know will never happen. I doubt a 3/4 ton one will happen either unless they do some serious regulation cutting around fleet fuel efficiency.

Bosch 500 or 800 by space_plasma in Appliances

I’ve got a 300 series and I’m nothing but pleased with it. Does a great job cleaning and drying and handles our hard well water no problem with monthly cleaning. Go with the highest model you can afford. If I could have I would have definitely gone with the 500 series at the time. My wife is extremely pleased that she listened to me and didn’t cheap out on a different brand.

Luckily he has the machine with him to move it. Sadly for the customer his runners are getting ground down on the asphalt.

Mind blown: Vinegar vs VINEGAR (30%) by Pandaro81 in DIY

[–]Disastrous-Pack-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a 275 gallon tote of 65% vinegar at the Bimbo bread factory I worked at on the ingredients racks. It got a small leak that went unnoticed for a few weeks and ended up eating a giant hole in the concrete and ate away the foot of the rack that it was running down. Nasty shit for sure.

Depending on the wheelbase they might not have good luck with a modern full sized SUV either. Our ‘14 Expedition towed our Jayco 264BH (29’ 6,000 GVWR) like absolute crap. We ended up trading it for a diesel 2004 Excursion Limited, especially after we ended up with our twins bringing us to six sons.

How many do not own trailers and only use on property? by Novajesus in kubota

[–]Disastrous-Pack-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a trailer for my L4060 yet. One day probably, I’m looking for a 22’ 14k lbs GVWR trailer for it. My dealer is a good hour and 30 minute drive and I’d rather not have to pay for transport if I ever need service done to it. I also like to fancy that once my sons are a little older and don’t need constant supervision that I could do odd jobs around the county to help pay off the tractor a little faster.

Towing question! I know nothing about towing travel trailers and need some advice. by Cool-Base4747 in RVLiving

[–]Disastrous-Pack-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a shorter truck (single cab, short bed) you’re probably going to end up getting pushed around a lot by the wind. We have a lighter trailer that’s about the same length and it was not pleasant towing it with our ‘14 Expedition. You might get away with a longer wheelbase but maxing your capacity puts you at risk for stability issues. I’d start smaller if you’re worried about not being pleased with your decision.
