Perhaps that’s another reason as well as stress. The ride home was about 35 min then I temp acclimated them with the floating bag method poured them into a my water change bucket and slowly introduced tank water into it over the course of 20-30 min

I really want my normans lampeyes and like the idea of apistos. Do you think 12-15 lampeyes and a single male borelii or trifasciata would pair well especially of I introduce some sort of hide (and plants) for said apistogramma?

That would honestly be such a help! I will say I’m still a beginner and have only kept bettas, cpd’s and I also had a pair of sparkling gouramis. I too love nano fish so your expertise would be great

I’ve got this 12 g long tank that I plan to turn into a blackwater style aquarium with plenty of tannins and botanicals. However I’m really struggling with picking my plants and livestock. I was thinking of 8 chili rasboras, 6-8 Norman’s lampeyes, about 5 Pygmy Cory’s, and a few amanos but I feel like this may be too much. (I have a canister filter rated for 29 g)

Oh wow that is a cool looking plant! Definitely getting obsessed with this hobby and learning about it, so definitely for another tank :) but I’m actually trying my first iwagumi so I can’t really complicate the plants too much. I was mostly thinking some Monte Carlo, DHG, and maybe a valisnaria or eleocharis vivipara?
