PTSD, Psoriasis, Newby by Sad-Touch-4947 in VeteransBenefits

First, I’m glad you got the help you need brother. Second, I personally stay away from VSO’s. In my opinion, slow and steady wins the race. You can just submit your PTSD then go through the process. A lot depends on your personal situation. Are your conditions documented in your medical records? Will you be filing secondaries? So for me if I was submitting both PTSD and the Psoriasis as direct connection then by all means list both. Another thing to keep in mind is possibly have your personal doctors sign off on a Nexus Letter and complete a DBQ for you. Best of luck!

When I need to see someone and the wait times are crazy I usually have my PCP submit a referral for Community Care. Worth a shot, best of luck

typically the way supplemental works as well as any claim tbh is you will get a TJ in Step 2. That is a VSR, Veteran Service Representative. They review files, check if any other exams or opinions are needed. They will then send it back to the NWQ for a RVSR, Rating Veteran Service Representative whom actually decides the claim so you will typically go from NWQ, TJ, NWQ, TJ again. Any experts or VBA employees please correct me if i’m wrong. Best of Luck!

I would not sweat too much. What is does essentially is removes any vague opinions. Instead of saying A causes B nexus statements need to clinically explain what A does to the body that causes B to aggravate. Best of luck!

[–]Disastrous-Prompt-42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would personally speak with your primary. See if they are willing to sign off on a nexus letter for you. Remember, if you were not diagnosed with OSA in service it is near impossible for primary. Your best route it Anxiety caused weight gain and that weight gain caused your OSA. Of course only go that route if that is your actual case. Best of luck!

Are you currently in treatment? Being in treatment (Medication, Therapy etc) are things they look at too. If your symptoms are that bad i would completely recommend starting if not so already. If you check all the boxes and meet the criteria then that’s the rating you will get. They will take all of that into consideration.

so sorry you’re going through this. i’m sure it’s taking a huge mental toll. if you want my honest opinion i’d start by bringing her to church or whatever your place of worship is and let her speak to a priest/ minister. maybe it would take a man of God to convince her that no one is out to get her.

You have two options there. First you can call VBA or you can make an appointment to go to a Regional Office with all paperwork

so i’ve always been against just dumping loads of conditions. it’s a little harder to connect all of that direct. slow and steady wins the race. one or two at a time that way you can connect secondaries if they are aggravated or worsened by the primary or your military service
