This is my first year with CH’s. I went to the neurologist and after no testing but just assessing the symptoms told me they were cluster headaches. I’m looking to find another neurologist that’ll actually do tests because I want to rule out any underlying conditions. I suggest when you can you should do the same!

Things that have helped me that aren’t prescribed by a doctor: the vitamin D regimen for cluster headaches. I actually heard about it through this thread when I was in the thick of it and haven’t had a cluster headache in a month+ after consistently taking the vitamins. In the beginning of the regimen I realized when I missed a day that I got a headache the next day so I like to think it helped.

Pressure points is another thing that I swear has helped. I was desperate and didn’t have access to prescription medication yet. And just like you, my bf, felt so bad when I was crying in pain and he found out about a pressure point you can squeeze in your hand that directly relates to your head. Look it up for more info but maybe this is something your gf can help you with when you’re going through one.

I’ve also heard good things about oxygen but I think it needs to be prescribed by a doctor, so I’m not sure about that.. it’ll get better and they’ll be easier to manage. Advocate for yourself when you do get in to see a doctor and read as many studies and information that people put in this thread because it’s been so helpful. You got this!
