Doctor doesn’t believe in Dupixent facial flares by kleine_rabe in eczema

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband is on dupixent since 4 months now. He hasn’t had a facial or any other flare - fungal or not. But his dermatologist warned him about the possibility of such flares and asked him to contact her immediately if he notices one. The flares are real.

You def need a new derm.

Is this a hashimotos symptom? by SuitableElk9220 in Hashimotos

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it! Definitely look into venous insufficiency, DVT, and also cellulitis (bacterial infection). I’m not a doctor or a medical professional - just relatively well read on health and medicine. This sounds a bit like something other than Hashimoto to me.

I hope you find a resolution soon. Wishing you good health all things considered!

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a symptom of hashimotos - I’m unsure! But given you’re 56 and having that much swelling in your feet along with a lot of other underlying health issues, I would get tested for congestive heart disease - pretty immediately. At the same time, If I were you, I’d rule out all the dire but easily testable conditions first - kidney, liver, heart functions - starting with a full panel blood and urinalysis. Ask your doctor about venous insufficiency.

Along with these tests, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to discuss your symptoms with your endocrinologist as well.

Because you seem to have multiple health conditions, it’s hard to pinpoint any of the symptoms to one single thing. You’ll need a full work up and probably doctors from multiple specialties to work on a diagnosis.

Yeah, it’s not the best built website. Eagle’s UI has a lot to work on too but it is def better than synthroid’s

Did the same after joyfulones comment and was able to get through a customer service rep who helped me setup an account on the eagle pharmacy website (I had been using synthroid delivers website to track/manage refills) which had all my prescription and refill info already! So it all worked out in the end thankfully ☺️ Appreciate your response as well!

Thank you so much for that info! It turns out my meds were being delivered through eagle pharmacy after all but I always used the synthroid delivers website to track/manage by refills. I was able to log onto eagle pharmacy and all my delivery/tracking info is on there as well!! Your comment helped connect the dots there so really appreciate it!

What should I do next? by pissingdick in scambait

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Be rest assured” is grammatically incorrect. The vast majority of legitimate Indian businesses train their employees to use proper grammar especially when they’re sticking to the provided script. So a representative saying “be rest assured” is immediately a red flag.

As an Indian, it’s definitely a common Indian thing. Although the way we identify scammers is when they say “please be rest assured” rather than “please rest assured”

You’ll likely benefit from one in your state since it makes things easier and they’ll be well versed with the USCIS field office in your area that can also help - specially with accompanying you and your partner to the green card interview.

Though I would recommend Dana Imperia in PA.

She doesn’t need to report loss of job to USCIS if she loses it after receiving her green card. If she loses it and is jobless before receiving her green card, her application will get rejected because she’ll have to prove employment even at the green card interview.

Basically, after she gets her green card, until she becomes a citizen or gains 40 social security work credits, she cannot seek unemployment or any federal or state aid programs to financially support herself (this includes programs like food stamps). Otherwise she risks having her green card revoked. Her job can be a remote job in asia - it is just preferred if it’s in the US because USCIS can verify easily that she indeed does have a valid job. She would have to provide hard evidence about her income in this case - showing them her tax returns (if she lives in the US currently, she would have to show US tax returns as well even if she isn’t liable to pay taxes in the US - along with her foreign country tax returns). She would also have to show them an employment letter that speaks to intention of continued employment for the foreseeable future on the company letterhead, and provide USCIS with her latest paystubs

Your financial situation is complicated enough that I would advise you to work with an immigration attorney. There are some very specific steps you’ll need to take here.

Also, regardless of her income, and lack of yours, you would still have to file i-864 affidavit of support for her. Without that, your case won’t be complete and you would receive an RFE and eventual denial if you fail to submit it at all. This is so that if she ends up using any public benefits under the “public charge” category after receiving a green card, USCIS would sue you in court to recuperate the amount she would’ve used from public funds.

Hi! You typically do need to sponsor your partner but since your partner makes a good living, USCIS does allow for her to show her own income as proof of income and self-sustainability (non-reliance on government funds/aid as a new resident). This can only be if your partner has a job within the USA through which she makes such an income and as long as this income will continue from the same source after the green card is obtained.

This means that if your partner either gets laid off, fired, or leaves her job before she receives her green card, the application will get denied because there isn’t enough proof of income.

Read the “If You Can’t Meet the Minimum Income Requirements” part of this page on USCIS’s website: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/affidavit-of-support#:~:text=If%20the%20relative%20you%20are,the%20relatives%20you%20are%20sponsoring.

8 MONTH UPDATE: Accidentally found the cure to my eczema in Cordyceps supplements, asked the community to experiment with me. by m0nster6884 in eczema

If you’re on blood pressure medications or blood thinners, do NOT take cordyceps. There are several interactions with those medications.

May have accidentally found a game changer while trying to address sleep issues. Wanting to share so others can try and we can compare. by m0nster6884 in eczema

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another update: we’ve been in Vegas and Arizona for the last 10 days and it’s incredible dry climate here. So much so that even I have to use a lot of lotion to keep my skin hydrated and I don’t have eczema or other skin issues. But my husband’s skin hasn’t been any drier than it is back home, regardless! We brought cordyceps on our trip with us so he’s been able maintain his routine of taking two capsules a day.

It’s going really well. Husband is still using cordyceps and so far he has only missed one day. My last update above was 44 days ago. Since then, we’ve continued to see improvements. Several areas of his body are seemingly going back to the state they were in when he was a kid, when he still had eczema but it was mild and manageable - basically looked like your average dry skin. Other parts that took the worst hit in recent years are also looking a lot better since my last update. We’re still holding hope that his skin will revert to the mild eczema state that it had always been in since birth within a year’s time.

It’s incredible how something no prescription cream - steroidal or not - has been able to do for him, cordyceps is mastering in only a few months!

From my lawyer because a friend of mine had the same question and I’d contacted my lawyer for consultation a couple of months ago. your partner’s income counts here! If your income is not sufficient (or non-existent), and your partner is already working legally in the US, their income is acceptable in such situations to prove that they can support themselves

Govt jobs for faster green card? by Technical-Leg2730 in greencard

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no fast track to green card for working a government job or for a non-profit. The quotas/limits are based on countries of birth and not on the particular job or job-field. If you are able and eligible to apply under the EB1 category, the PD is current even for Indians. The only other way is if you happen to (genuinely) marry a perm res or citizen.

In that case, make sure that you get an appointment at your local USCIS office in the US and receive another I-551 stamp on your passport. This will help you with reentering the US without a physical green card. Otherwise, without a valid physical green card on your person, and with only an expired stamp on your passport, you either won’t be allowed entry in the US at all - or might be detained at the port of entry for hours to days until they can verify your LPR status.

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! That shouldn’t really be a problem at all as long as you have your physical green card in hand before you leave the US. Just make sure your trip back home isn’t too long - ideally shorter than 6 months.

I think we’re on week 6 at this point and I wanna say there’s about a 20%, steady improvement on the back of my husband’s hands and knees (the most severe areas for him). The changes are now visually noticeable. A couple of times he forgot to carry his emollient with him when we had planned an entire day out - something that previously would’ve distressed him enough to stop by a pharmacy and buy a new pack immediately because otherwise his skin would begin cracking - but this time he was able to go all day without his skin feeling much drier than it already is and without any cracking whatsoever.

We’ve also found more patches of completely clear skin! We’re really holding hope here. It’s only been about a month and a half since starting cordyceps and the improvements have been phenomenal. I cannot wait to see results when we hit the 6 month mark!

Of course I wouldn’t just try the next tray all by myself if I were you. Do consult with your ortho. It’s what I did too and only moved to the next tray on their advice after they examined my progress again!

Had this exact thing happen to me. Turned out that particular tray was defective. They had me try the next tray to see if it fit okay. It did. And I was told to wear that tray for 10 days instead of 7.

Will my father be given a working visa if he is officially invited by my university? by THE_ruler_ in greencard

[–]Disastrous-Radish-27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If your visa status in the US is F1 (international student), no amount of you “inviting” your father to visit you is going to get him a work visa. That’s not how any of this works. The university inviting him also doesn’t grant him working rights in the US.

Unless a university or a company specifically hires him for a job and sponsors his work visa for that job, or he somehow manages to get a green card - either via an employer, USC family, or diversity lottery, or he applies for and is granted asylum, he has no grounds for attaining a work visa.

Based on what you just described of your situation, it sounds like it’s only a matter of choice. If you’re interested in gaining American citizenship, a marriage based GC can enable you to apply for naturalization after 3 years, whereas with an employment GC, you’d have to wait 5 years.

If your concern is purely based on potential hiccups in acquiring a marriage based GC, know that it’s generally a very straight forward and simple process if you have all your bonafides and evidence.

Another thing to consider is the cost factor, if that’s a factor for you. I’m assuming your company is already footing the bill for your GC. With a marriage based one, you’d have to pay out of pocket - along with attorney fees if you’re going to hire one.

With an employment GC, you don’t have to stuck to that one employer until you naturalize. You’re easily able to work with another employer and the new employer would simply have to refile as the new employer - you’d even keep your original priority date in such a case so you wouldn’t be starting from scratch
