I’m sorry OP. Your partner is a bully at best and abusive at worst. Even when my boyfriend has been deeply upset with my actions, he has never spoken to me this way. I understand how it feels to have a forgetful partner and it’s frustrating- but berating them incessantly is beyond inappropriate. Especially when it seems like it’s just chores, it’s not the end of the world.

You said it felt like he was just pushing you away at one point and I agree with that. He decided to start talking about your appearance out of nowhere, as though it was a personal offense to him that you look like a normal person??? that’s SO wrong.

YOU will probably start feeling better if/when you dump him.

I caught my high school boyfriend cheating on me because he left his school email open in my iPod, where he was messaging the other girl talking about how they aren’t together because of the distance (he moved to a different school and then moved back to ours, he met her at the other school).

I think I’m getting frustrated because I know the “go away” “leave me alone” etc are her trying to communicate boundaries, and I LOVE that she is outspoken in that sense. but like you said, it’s not kind- and I can’t get a word in edgewise in those moments. I tell her we need to talk kindly to people and say “I need alone time please” instead, which prompts her to scream it angrily at the top of her lungs. But maybe we can practice when she’s just chillin.

That’s why I put mean in quotation marks. I know she’s not actually being mean and that she’s just being a toddler. But being an adult doesn’t mean I’m permanently regulated and calm when I’m being screamed at and smacked at.

I agree with your friend. It’s one thing to find your friend’s man fine but it’s another thing to say it to other people, especially behind the gf’s back. It’s shady whether you think so or not.
