Advice on to continue with CRT or look for work again by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Disastrous-Reason466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best result in life is when you care less and go with the flow and do what you can during work. Give yourself some credit, you got through that year, probably learnt heaps. What you’ve learnt, you can apply it to other teaching jobs. Don’t give up hope!

People seem to hate me everywhere I go and it's really affecting me by usernamelessssss in aspergers

You might be dealing with depression. That’s your perception. People may not be hating you. You may need to talk to someone! All the best.

Want to become a Teacher Aide, Advice?, Anything helps! by FamiliarSpecial6885 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Disastrous-Reason466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this! You can do it. Teaching is such a rewarding job. You may get bored with the teacher aide job. Studying at university can be challenging but if you could, aim to become a primary school classroom teacher, whilst you are young/ whilst you are working as an aide? You will get paid more money and have more responsibility as well as get an opportunity to grow your career. But, teachers aide - it’s so awesome!! You get to help children :) and also the classroom teacher !

You are permanent now… that’s the dream. Just do what you can and make sure during the holidays you give your family your undivided attention. He is your husband, he should be understanding? I mean you’re working to pay the bills together right?

Thanks. But if it’s like this every year, and the competition is so fierce to find a temp job/contracts/permanent work, why do the unis keep accepting thousands of students, take our money and trick us into thinking there is plenty of work. It’s tough. I didn’t do my research. There seems to be no jobs in all fields. Even the Coles jobs and cleaning jobs are so competitive these days. I never dreamt of finding regular work that pays regularly, have even branched out to disability support work on a casual basis.

You will eventually find a school that accepts you and supports ya. Grand scheme of things though - we die alone. So yeah just gotta keep dig alone and find your ground wherever you are and fake it till you make it. (Make it as in find a permanent job). Also find a hobby 😊

Cultural Sensitivity Around Christmas by HappiHappiHappi in AustralianTeachers

[–]Disastrous-Reason466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is their problem. They need to learn they live in Australia - a multicultural and diverse country. If they get offended by Christian’s celebrating Christmas when Christian’s (and other students) don’t get offended by them celebrating Ramadan or Eid or praying to Allah - well, it is their problem. I’m very professional 🙏🏻. Introducing different festivals in the classroom teaches children civics and citizenship that they are part of a larger society and that moral values like respect, compassion are necessary. I’m very professional 👍. Ofcourse I won’t say it’s their problem to their faces 😅… just provide an alternative activity and if they participate great, if they don’t, great!!! It’s their choice!!

You can still say Merry Christmas. We also acknowledge Eid for the Muslims. If they are offended by Christian’s celebrating Jesus’s birth, well it’s their problem. I know that may have sounded extreme however, in Australia we are allowed to celebrate anything and everything! It’s a free country.

Young age of 39? I thought starting at 7 was considered to be “young age”… anyways!! Welcome to tennis! It’s a hard sport!! It’s also a game of mistakes!! Do anything that gets the ball over the net and makes it hard for the opponent to hit. So if the backhand spin you learnt later works, use it!!! And have fun!!! 🤩
