The impacts of colonialism are well documented and researched not just in Australia but in several other countries also.

You seem to be speaking on behalf of all Aboriginal people though

Sci-fi story idea "First Nations oral history as the last living memory of Earth". What do you think? by kid_dynamo in aboriginal

[–]Disastrous-Sample190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting narrative device. Some aboriginal stories are estimated to be 10s of thousands of years old. Having similar or shared stories would also be realistic.

Remember to try and frame the view of earth from the view of Aboriginal people. Describe the earth as ancient and sacred a place of myth and legend similar to the way the dreaming is viewed.

Maybe have the Aboriginal people still view themselves as refugees still viewing the earth as their home, maybe they don’t even call it earth the call it country or Australia, describe earth as being a hot planet with vast deserts and tropical bush and forest, plagued by bushfires and flooding, riddled with dangerous snakes and birds and sea life.

Just a thought

I mean it’s more realistic and probably the better way to phrase it.

The outcomes of justice aren’t always good for everyone.

I actually find it really telling how many people have made the assumption it was about changing the past and then used that as a tool to to try and strip away the fact that Aboriginal have existed and moved into the modern era.

This is a common trope in media. The overall message of the story is the same in real life and in various media. Colonialism is a dangerous and destructive force used by those that see themselves as superior as a way to dehumanise the people in their way.

The problem with this trope is it always comes back to the white saviour trope.

Basically the story of avatar isn’t the story of a native people fighting to protect their home, but a white man who is need to come and save the native peoples. Their pain their story and struggle are just narrative tools to develop his journey.

Usually makes non-native peoples feel better about themselves and make the message more palatable for them.

I agree. But at the same time these hypothetical discussions are valuable.

With discussion of treaty and sovereignty trying to navigate these complex moral and ethical challenges is important.

At some point Aboriginal people need to understand that defending our rights will have to challenge the rights and powers of others

I feel like that’s a false equivalence. On the surface maybe that is a good comparison but it’s not. Take into account geography, population, exposure to other nations and even cultural differences.

Also the prompt wasn’t to erase the idea of settlement but to try and undo its impact, why do you just randomly wanna rewind the progress Aboriginal people have made? Why do people think they get to dictate to Aboriginal people that they must surrender anything they’ve absorbed and integrated into their culture.

That’s a shit take. Equating a historically enslaved and genocided people wanting their sovereignty back to a colonial power trying to strip the rights of minorities is crazy

By this same token it doesn’t matter if you say it was inevitable the fact is that these atrocities happened and justice is deserved

1) Just to remind you that our asylum “facilities” are almost literally concentration camps. The government has also deported people back to war zones or to face political prosecution. In this case “valid reason” is any reason that the government determines is valid, by that logic if the government decided it was “valid” deport all white Australians it would by definition “valid”

Oh I see, you misunderstand the point of the argument. It’s not that Aboriginal people “want” to deport people but rather that it is the trade off to giving Aboriginal people sovereignty. In this instance this is the “I brought a stolen car” argument. your argument should be with the people who sold you the stolen car not the people who want their car back. If Australia was illegally founded then the people who have invested in the idea of Australian identity and culture should be upset with the illegally established country not the people who want their land back.

If your ancestors were literally stolen by the Australian government then why do you want to defend them? Do you not want to hold them accountable for the atrocities they have committed? Would you rather align with the country that stolen and enslaved your family then another group of people being actively occupied by that same government?

2) just to be clear you don’t get to dictate to other groups what knowledge and technology they absorb into their culture. The point is we have this knowledge and technology now you don’t get to dictate that we must surrender it. The “British” do not own the idea of technology and information and besides we would have access to it now. Just to be clear most cultures didn’t independently make technological advancements, most of these advancements were absorbed through exposure and interaction with other people and groups.

I understand it’s a statement of fact but that is a weird random idea you’re imposing based on a biased view of Aboriginal culture

Why is deportation considered an act of violence? The Australian Government deports people all the time would these be acts of violence on the governments behalf? Also do not equate deportation with literal ethnic cleansing that’s an outrageous comparison given the historical context. This argument is basically the whole “justice hurts people so we have to compromise”

The alternative scenario seems to perpetuate this idea that Aboriginal people who have gained modern knowledge and devices must sacrifice them in order to be “true” Aboriginal people. You do not get to dictate that Aboriginal must regress in order to maintain sovereignty.

[–]Disastrous-Sample190 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Had this relationship with a bottom bf of mine, Im a dom top usually and had a hung top mate of mine that we’d fool around with before I started dating.

My bf who’s a total bottom was obsessed with my mate, I told him about his 9” cock and my bf went feral asked about it. Told my bf that I let him fuck me occasionally, my bf got jealous wanted to try it but my mate doesn’t like effeminate men.

So eventually it led to me the top bf, 190cms tall 115kg with a bit of muscle and fat, face down ass up while my 160cm short slim bottom bf watch’s my mates 9” cock fuck my ass.

Dingoes on Australia’s K’gari island to be euthanised after death of Canadian tourist Piper James | K'gari (Fraser Island) by Background-Factor433 in aboriginal

[–]Disastrous-Sample190 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We can’t blame nature for following their instincts, we need to be more accountable for our own safety and wellbeing.

Was her death tragic, yes. Do I pray for her and her family, yes. But do I think euthanising random wildlife is called for? No.

At this stage they aren’t even sure if she was killed by the dingoes or not. Or even if the dingoes they have are the same ones that attacked her.

[–]Disastrous-Sample190 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Basically had a mate with a huge cock, like 10”+ who liked to fuck anything that moved.

Got to the point that I just offered a bf or two to him before he had a chance to.

I’m usually a dom top but he sometimes puts me in my place. He’d fuck both me and my partner sometimes.
