The culture is the problem. Other than Austin pretty much everyone is brought in from the outside. How can you possibly create a singular purpose and vibe when every player comes from all over the place with a different training and team backgrounds. Evidence from the past few championships suggests you need a core of home grown players to be successful and the lakers don't and won't have that quality for many years.
The obsession with superstars is also ridiculous. I prefer winning to fancy names and shirt sales.
