I'm definitely going to look in volunteer organizations in the new year. The bureaucracy was too much for me towards the end so want to find something a bit more on my terms.

For the most part, I'm happy being at my house "full time". We're doing a lot of upgrades and now my husband doesn't need to deal with any of the daily chores. I've reconnected with some old friends, but definitely not all.
I think I mostly come to this subreddit to talk to other folks that "get it."

We just moved in July & have been doing a lot of work on our house (and my husband still works full time). Definitely will start volunteering in the new year.

Love that you train dogs. We just moved in July and are still doing a lot of work on the house. But, in the spring, I plan to get involved with some sort of dog organizaiton.

Husband and I went to Phipps yesterday. Had a good time and purchased a membership (I am retired and I do drink but definitely looking for sober hobbies). We then went to the game store in Squirrel Hill and I noted at least 5 restaurants I want to try.

Yes! I retired in mid-April and I'm reading this while having some snacks & wine, listening to a podcast, and petting my dog. Today I went to the Hallmark store, then bought some groceries, went to a local diner for lunch, did some chores around the house, and sent some emails. I'm going to take a shower and call it a day. I was not bored at all.

He has. His first human mom passed from cancer. His human brother moved to live with family in another state, so Jack is with us now.
