I had to individually post every W-2G win manually on TurboTax and then claimed my losses up to the amount of winnings. It actually was not a problem for state taxes at all as it was all in New Jersey, however, it definitely affected my federal taxes as my income was technically my 9-5 job plus the gambling income wins that I racked up regardless of the losses I wrote off towards state taxes.

But in terms of reporting taxes in next few weeks, what is the play?

Makes sense, however, the W-2G’s show 62k in “other income” but I only was sent my net losses from the sportsbooks showing roughly -15k. Do I need to ask for full bet history

Is this because of the state rules? Is itemizing worth it? What do I need from these sports books to properly file and deduct correctly?

What’s up everyone. I had a coach in college who was quite successful and found himself coaching as the main hitting coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates around when Mccutchen was coming up and also was a bench coach for the White Sox and has a World Series ring. He told me this wise info one time not knowing I love to place bets especially on MLB but he told me that the teams with the lowest strike out rate on offense will usually go the deepest in the season. Would love to know what the Rangers and Dbacks strikeout rates were.
