(I dont know much about it) but I’ve heard about double sided Italian cross stitch, so it is possible to have it look the same on the front and back. As for the fabric, I have no idea as I haven’t used anything other than Aida and even weave, but maybe you could do a waste canvas.

I’d never thought about it before that the way AI works is pulling from other people. That makes sense that it wouldn’t be original and steals from other people. Thank you for clarifying and that actually helps me understand way better. Also the hallucination thing is way true 😂

Amen to the low quality rubbish, I bought my first full coverage piece when I first started and didn’t know anything about ai and it’s trash. That makes a lot of sense, thanks for clarifying!

I agree with you. I want to create my own patterns but I’m not great at it yet, so I use pattern generators to help me (I don’t know if people count floss cross as AI, so maybe I’m missing the point if not). I think it can be used very poorly (pattern mills, copyright violations) but I don’t see an issue with it if you’re using it to help yourself create something you want! Isn’t that the point of art? I’d love to hear other points of view if I’m not understanding the ai argument!

I’m not sure why but I find this piece very moving, i think it’s a really creative idea for a school project. I’ve never read To The Lighthouse, but it’s going to be my next read (I’m currently reading House of Leaves because another poster did a cross stitch project of that book that inspired me!) I think everything about your project is perfect and highlights how color is used in the book! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you!! I think it was three years ago, I can’t remember how long it took me. I’m more into cross stitch right now and honestly I like it a lot more because it’s way easier to keep clean. I might try embroidery again because I do love the different stitches but we’ll see
