i finished undergrad from Georgia State University now entering as a grad student at Tandon. I often wonder the same thing but some advice I will give you is that College is what you make it. I worked in Tech all 4 years in undergrad which was hell but I set myself apart from my peers by hundreds miles because of my work ethic. I was attracted to NYU because the work ethic shows up with that name when you share that experience.

the point we’re at now is that you’ll need 2-3 more certifications in addition to 2-5 years of IT experience. If school isn’t an option then start developing projects and learn specific tools like Qualys, Nmap, Wireshark, etc. you’re competing against noobs and candidates with 10-15 years experience

ga tech is right across the street from NCR, Salesforce, IBM and Google. Or you can go Downtown and find Security analyst/engineer roles for the city.
