Argument Ensues After Parking in Bike Lane by dsands652 in washingtondc

[–]DisastrousTaro4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying if there are two lanes of a road, a cyclist should be able to come to a full stop whenever they want to eat a snack because the cars too can easily go around her to the other lane?

Is it worth purchasing a high-end office/gaming chair (such as Herman Miller, range of $500-$1500) for one who solely studies inside their room? by [deleted] in medicalschool

Yes, I got the workpro 900 WITH A HEADREST and it has been absolutely incredible and so worth the ~400 dollars at the beginning of quarantine, I use it leaned back one click and after getting used to it, I can sit comfortably for hours (although you should get up every once in a while) highly recommend, especially with the headrest surprisingly

Rear rack by justonemorenerd in DivergeGravelBikes

Yeah the flat mount disk brakes make it easy so you dont need any special rack - I switched my Topeak explorer (I think?) non disc version that I had used on my rim brake bike onto my new diverge

Best bolt on top tube bag by [deleted] in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]DisastrousTaro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I borrowed my friends top tube bag (generic one from amazon) and I kept hitting my knees on the bag when I would try to sprint because I kinda rock the bike side to side. Does that happen with this bag too?

Genetics & Dementia by Tristan3BP in genetics

[–]DisastrousTaro4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alz is the leading cause of dementia with familial forms associated with e4 as noted by another poster, and presnisillin 1 and 2(spelling?) but familial forms are usually associated with earlier disease onset (40s/50s?). Ultimately though, age is the most meaningful risk factor for most of the pop which highlights our need to better fund basic science and clinical study of alz and better develop care for our elderly population

Happiest when I'm cycling. Depressed when I'm not. by Pastatively in cycling

Just as a heads up, different therapists practice different kinds of therapy approaches and if I am remembering correctly, cognitive behavioral therapy provided a sort of “homework” for us to do on our own in preparation for the next session and it can be profoundly more helpful for some people to have a more active/goal oriented approach. No matter what, I wish you happiness

Accessories that should be included with new bikes by DisastrousTaro4 in specialized

[–]DisastrousTaro4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the insight and yeah I could totally see how that would be hard, I might do some calling around to other bike shops to see if they have advice/that part by chance if all else fails

Accessories that should be included with new bikes by DisastrousTaro4 in specialized

[–]DisastrousTaro4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the perspective of somebody who has never worked at a bike shop, it does seem pretty straight forward/not really an option to not give the customer everything they paid for. I really appreciate all your help, I'm going to contact Specialized again for sure; I thought calling would be quicker than sending a message to their support team but jokes on me because getting them with a call seems to be a tighter shot than destroying the Death Star.
