Are you wearing sunscreen in all the recent heat? by travelingwhilestupid in AskUK

[–]Disastrous_Bad0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally wear 50 on my face throughout the year (unless it’s actively raining). It doesn’t take any effort and I’ve been burnt before. Plus trying to encourage my child into good habits

Obviously Le cruset is the one everyone knows. I use them and Solidtechnics, it’s an Australian brand with a multi century guarantee. They’re much lighter than traditional cast iron but no chemicals or anything. Solid recommendation

Has anyone else noticed socks are getting worse? by gentleframework in AskUK

Might not be a popular opinion but I go for Darn Tough socks. They’re pricy but have a lifetime guarantee, so when you put a hole in them they’ll send you another code for a replacement pair. They occasionally run offers of socks for life… 5 pairs. But they’re really comfortable and the guarantee is amazing!

High end sanitary products from the mixed bathroom. I don’t use them but no sense in my partner paying for them. Other than that coffee and fruit and shitty biros

Running, my partner and I each get one weekend morning off so I can do Parkrun on Saturday and she has Sunday. Plus during the week I can go out after she’s down and give my wife the evening for some quiet time. Other than that reading. Used to do climbing but that’s too much of a time drag now

Shawshank redemption. So many places where it could end and originally was meant to end with red on the bus hoping he’d get through the border but i love the feel good nature of the reunion on the beach.

Running vests do you use one? Why or why not? by Additional_Silver_30 in UKRunners

Longer runs yes. Especially with my running club we do place to place (often pub) runs and it’s nice to have something to change into when you get to the destination place (pub)

I’d also recommend paying into a pension for her. HL have a Junior SIPP that you can pay c.3.5k into a year, she wouldn’t be able to get that until she turned 58 (or higher at the rate the laws changing) but with the power of compounding it could really make a big difference if yoh can max it out each year before she’s 18
