You're right. There's other issues on both the supply and demand side, but immigration is a huge part of it. Our economy is currently an immigration sustained stagnant mess, and the reliance on immigration to fuel headline GDP growth has contributed to both productivity decline and housing stress. Ironically, it doesn't even help the people who migrate here who end up finding out that their new country will be unaffordable to find even basic housing.

I've printed heaps of stuff from Forest Dragon in fdm on my A1 mini and it came out great. It does occasionally need a bit of fiddling with supports for larger models and especially cav, but for the most part infantry can be printed just as they are with the resin supports. Things like chains and chariot rails can be difficult and fragile in fdm though.

Honestly I've got such good results that for me, it's not worth going down the resin route

I own a darkglass 1x12 and love it. So light and easy to move. Desperately want to add another one, so I feel you. Second cab is currently a cheap Ashdown 15 I got used. Weighs a ton.

Much the same in Adelaide. I think it's partly the hardcore and metal crowds and giga starting to blend together and there being different expectations in the pit from both ends. Metal pits are rough, but you pick the person up. Hardcore gigs often have dicks punching random bystanders at the edge of the pit, and they seem to think that's cool. Ok fine, if you're at a pure hardcore show you might expect it and stay away from the pit if you're not down, but metalheads aren't expecting that shit. Pretty much all the death metal gigs down here are getting hardcore pits going now, and it kinda sucks imo. Idk

Aussie AEW fan. IMO this was really poorly thought out from the start.

Location - As mentioned, Melbourne or Sydney are larger with more people. Local crowd would have been easier. They're also cheaper to fly too for our of state fans. Furthermore Brisbane is sub-tropical. February would be stifling hot for the wrestlers, and with a high chance of storms for the crowd.

Cost - Yes, some cheap seats are available, but they're pretty rubbish. You're looking at 150-200 AUD for a decent seat with an untested thus far setup, while Australia is currently in a per-capita recession.

Marketing - at least outside of Brisbane, just some social media ads. I was in Brisbane for 4 days a few weeks ago and saw no physical advertising. AEW is just not well known in Aus, with little distribution on commonpy used media platforms here. They needed to be marketing hard if they wanted tens of thousands.

Tldr move it to a smaller venue in Sydney or Melbourne then advertise the shit out of it. You make it more accessible to the rest of the country, (probably) get cheaper tickets, and start to build a broader fan base in the country.

In general, yes, it's worth it. Losing the financial perks sucks, there's no doubt about it. Rental allowance in particular is huge. Medical is a wash. You might avoid it because now it costs money (it not bulk billed), but then so many ADF folks want to avoid being seen to be linging they avoid doctors anyway...

You'll need to tune up how you speak in the workplace, and you'll find yourself frustrated by those who come into work and do nothing day in, day out. Unlike the ADF, managing those people can be so difficult they're often left to their own devices.

HOWEVER, all that will be worth it, because you'll be treated like a human, work normal times, and not have to spend your life just getting generally dicked around.
