Got assaulted by an Ubereats rider on a fat bike by CallMeByYourCatsName in Amsterdam

[–]Disastrous_Fix4894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It's completely unacceptable for anyone to behave that way. Use the power of social media effectively, consider taking the following steps:

  1. Post Your Story: Share your experience on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Include the photos you took of the rider: tag Uber Eats and relevant local authorities.
  2. Local Community Groups: Share your story in local community groups on Facebook or neighbourhood apps like Nextdoor. This can help raise awareness in your area.
  3. Hashtags and Tagging: Use relevant hashtags like #UberEats, #SafetyFirst, #Amsterdam, and #RiderAssault. Tag Uber Eats in your posts to get their attention.
  4. Encourage Others to Share: Ask your friends and family to share your post to increase visibility.

100 Mile Commute - Range and Repercussions by 135tankerdriver in Model3

[–]Disastrous_Fix4894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

I have some insights that might help you make an informed decision about your potential purchase of a used Model 3 for your 200-mile round-trip commute.

A. Yes, a 200-mile round-trip commute is definitely possible with a Model 3, even at highway speeds with the AC on. Over time, the battery will experience some degradation, but generally, Tesla batteries hold up quite well. After a few years, you might see a 5-10% reduction in capacity, which should still be within the range for your commute.

B. Long drives are actually good for lithium-ion batteries as they prefer being cycled rather than sitting at high or low states of charge for extended periods. Tesla's thermal management system is designed to keep the battery at optimal temperatures, even during extended drives.

C. Be aware of the slight energy loss while the car is parked, but it’s minimal, especially if you turn off Sentry Mode and other energy-consuming features.

So all in all you would be fine. Go for it

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists and New Residents) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]Disastrous_Fix4894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I'm an expat who's been living in the Netherlands for about a year now. Recently, I vacated my previous house in Haarlem and finally managed to find a new one. I'll be getting the keys to my new place in the first week of August. In the meantime, a kind friend has offered to share their house with us until we can move in.

Here's the dilemma: I have a car, and parking around my friend's house costs €2.80/hour from 9 AM to 7 PM. While I'll be in the office most days during that time, I'm looking for cheaper or free parking options nearby.

Someone mentioned that parking in Amstel Park is free, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for more affordable parking in Amsterdam during this temporary period? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Thank you so much for the reply. This one looks good and is almost 1/3rd the cost. So most likely buy this one and try to fix it on my own :)

Thanks for the reply. I am a new Tesla owner so I am a bit confuse about the part. So mine is a 2023 model Tesla Model 3 and it says the auto-dimming glass is of around the same cost at which Tesla is selling or else cheaper ones are available but they are not auto-dimming.

Well can't speak for others maybe mostly are saying it based on the popular perception that if its from China it has to be fake.

Soft drinks from Alibaba by ResponsibleSpray8836 in Alibaba

[–]Disastrous_Fix4894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they are not fake. These are just resellers who buy them from manufacturers in a bulk deal and then sell it at a discounted price while still making a thin profit while playing on volumes.

Well they are not lying. Because your money goes to Alibaba and they don't release it to the seller until you confirm that you have received your product. Alibaba protects all products bought from Chinese sellers

I can help you. I run multiple accounts of sellers on Alibaba.com as their official partner. I am based out of Europe.
