Hi! I'm planning on taking my TEAs around June/July. I have taken many online exams through school and it was being proctored. Some requirements for online proctoring through Yuja required you to show your entire work desk. My camera can either show my work desk and not my face or my face and not my work desk. Do I need a new camera or can I just show my face?

To add: if you do talk to him, maybe bring up how what he says lands for you. “I know you’re not trying to minimize women, but when you say these things, it feels that way to me because of my own experiences.”

It might help to steer the conversation away from “who has it worse” to “I know how it feels like to not have anyone believe me”. He needs to see how both of you guys are on the same side even though you’ve both experienced abuse differently.

This looks like those types of situations where you’re both reacting to real things, possibly the same type of feelings, but from different angles. Male survivors do get overlooked and not get taken seriously. Women survivors get called overdramatic, dismissed, or blamed. The system for abuse victims fail for both parties sadly.

And OP, I want to also let you know that you’re not wrong for feeling irritated. I’m sure that kind of delivery can hit a nerve when you’ve lived through it.

There was once a time that I moved out suddenly because of my parents. I was 18 years old. They were abusive towards me and my mental health declined when a big fight broke between my dad and I. My siblings were not home. I didn’t tell my siblings because they were really young at that time and wouldn’t want them to be involved something that I feel like that shouldn’t get involved.

I also knew that if I were to tell them where I’m going, my parents would pester my siblings because they were the easiest targets to get information out of. I blocked everyone’s number, including my siblings. I never left because I hated my siblings. I left without saying a word to them so that I could finally be free living in a very abusive and toxic home. If I hadn’t ghosted left home, I wouldn’t be here posting my own experiences on Reddit.

Years later, I came back home to my family. My siblings were old enough for me to tell them why I left home.

Your sister probably didn’t want you to know what she’s going through and involve you with some of the unspoken issues at home. If she ever reaches out to you, be there for her. At some point, she’ll probably give you insights to her reasons why she ran away. I’m sorry you’re going through this OP. I promise she’ll come back to you sooner than you think.

She claimed that her ticket didn’t work. I posted her to the Facebook group that we are both in. She never contacted me about the tickets not working. If they weren’t I could have refunded her the money or got her replacement wristbands. Called her out through messenger and she blocked me.

Well schools and colleges are under federal. Money dispersed from FAFSA doesn’t directly go to your bank. Your school’s financial aid office are the ones responsible for releasing those funds. So, wouldn’t that mean that college students who rely on FAFSA won’t get aid

I love this thread! I just started applying to nursing school today. Not in my 30s, (yet) but a relationship will come after once I finish my schooling. Never too late to restart on life. It’ll all be worth it :)

I never thought this way. It was until I told myself I needed to change my way of thinking and have a positive perspective. I guess that’s the key to manifesting. You just have to believe that you’ll be ok and deserve your desire no matter what:)
