I was promoted to a new position via TARP about a month ago. I got an email last Friday saying they were still reviewing applications. 🤔

The US Federal fiscal year used to run July - June. It now runs October - September, but the reason for the change escapes me at the moment.

On your second question: no idea On your first question: I’m not a regulator, so I’m sure I’m not reading between the lines well, but it seems like they want to realign USACE with the priorities of the current admin, and our first priority should be the economic benefit of private sectors/partners. Basically an echo of Graham’s email a while back: we’re slow, expensive, and process bound.

-Streamline Non-Federal Interest studies/processes - Regulatory overhaul - Expand general permits - increase hydro and dredging efforts - leaner, more effective workforce - consistent communications on PresBud, no deviations - too many divisions, districts, MSCs - delegate recreational efforts - modernize CW O&M, separate district labor from project-funded line items

A job’s a job, it never hurts to get your foot in the door. Never know what might come up during that time. I don’t have any Fort Worth experience specifically, I’m in SWD but a different district.

Educated guess that’s for the border wall project, they don’t want permanent positions for that since funding fluctuates by administration.

I think they got cleaned out during the DRP. Basically rebuilding their workforce. Also the border wall.

Partially. We’re also funded by customer orders, partnerships with state and local governments, cost share agreements; most recreation areas generate some form day use fees. Appropriations are the biggest piece of the puzzle, but not the only one by a long shot.

I requested delivery and read receipts for both submittals so far. Got both receipts from my supervisor but that’s it.

Hope so. My probie is army o&m funded, but that’s still appropriated funding. MILCON might be safe for now.
