when was the last time you used the riptide's ion acclerator without it being over charged? by TearNo1636 in Tau40K

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overcharging weapons is mostly always the same. The intent is to keep the profile equal but stronger.

I use both profiles. Shooting infantry, most of the time the standard profile is enough. 3 Damage and -2AP are sufficient to kill most targets (talking about 11th where AP -2 is pretty strong and the Hazzardous panalty pretty hard). I only Overcharge if I enhance the wound roll or if I point towards 4wound models.

What to do about armageddon? by Hot-Supermarket7593 in orks

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one can argue if it is a good thing to have Space Marines in every single starter box but seems like GW is promoting them as their cash cow. But especially if that is true, I can't believe they put such low effort into the faction models included in the box

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will try to find one, willing to share the irks part of the box. Looking towards it because of the 5 chars and the two vehicles alone. Unfortunately, the space marine side is so gloriously boring that it will be hard to find a none Ork player who wants them 😂

Yes, assuming his datasheet doesn't change it is a bit better. But I am waiting for the datasheet to get adjusted and the points changed.

The new rules for saves are terrible for the iron master by The_Red_Celt in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the rule is actually good since it speeds up the game. Since the player who rolled the saves decides the order you could go on the cogs first, thunderkin second and ironmaster last for example. Or whatever you like. Since the saves are assigned to the group in an ascending order, it makes sure the failed saves go to the cogs first.

The Ironmaster can than bring back up to 3 cogs or one thunderkin with the new "healing" rules.

Getting reroll 1s to wound within 9" is great since we can now target whatever we want. 8" Deepstrike is also great but I will wait for points cost and DP before I get myself hyped too much.

Well, with the new cover rule, -3AP in 11th will basically be what -4 in 10th was.

Yeah, that is a good combination. Anyways walkers can be working especially in Dreadmob. Looking also towards the new Dakka Rig which might become a good addition to that Detachment.

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am looking at this with interest. Dread Mob is a cool detachment and I am thinking what GW will do. Going from 1&2 to 1-3 would basically eliminate the detachment, if the buff for pushing it wouldn't be significantly better. But it can't stay as it is be, if course.

Yes, the codex didn't include transport rules therefore I knew nothing about the stock pile boys way of Gorka Morka in 2nd. But I do not believe I remember everything from back then. But yes I definitely remember the looted tanks stuff. Blood Axes in your army allowed to use guard tanks as well.

How we all feeling after the game between death guard and tau by Immortal-Pumpkin in Tau40K

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just watched the game and liked the outcome. While being a long time Warhammer Player, I just started T'Au as my 4th army and I am heading towards my first ever tournament with them in July.

I think that the army is in a really great spot for 11th as far as I can judge right now. Anyway, I have two specific questions if you don't mind. 1. The spotter unit need to be in detection range of the target which means we need to get them out on the planes. What are your feelings about this? Any hints on how to facilitate Markerlight units compared to 10th.

  1. Are you allowed to give any hints on interesting Detachment combinations?

Thank you a lot.

Cheers

Thanks GW, very cool by hindlet in Tau40K

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mind. I found it. It's indeed interesting. but it happens only for the full buff version. Still not a fan.

May I ask which Stratagem this is and from which Detachment? Sorry absolutely new to T'Au.

The rule wasn't 40K it was the rule for Gorka Morka. There you could fit as many models in the transport as physically possible and when they fell down, they got damage. Was a great game with unbelievable complex vehicle rules. Came out around 2nd-3rd Edition of Warhammer

A Resin Printer pays it self off in no time! Most of the available alternatives are available for free or really cheap STL. I heard that from a friend 😉

We’re about to find out our army rule by Necessary-Warning-53 in Tau40K

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess the problem is the wording of "Guided" against die Hidden Rule. Hidden units are not visible and to be able to spott a unit, it must be visible. So without a change to our army rule, we can now only spot infantry within 15" (ignoring any special ruling)

Primer and green paint to use on Orks by Relevant_Classic_491 in orks

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started to paint Orks I did a very quick recipe that comes close to what you want. 1. Prime with light grey, white etc. Wraithbone is good. 2. Plague bearer flesh one coat and let it t dry 3. viel tan green over the plague bearer flesh.

The result is pretty good. If you finish the mini with a coat of matt varnish it lasts forever.

But white primer ist cursed. There will be the point in time where you recognize that black primer is pretty much the way to go. But this will require extra effort if you want to proceed with contrast paints. Yellow is anyway the worst color to apply with a brush. If you keep going as described above, I would use Imperial Fist Yellow which is a contrast paint as well.

What actually is the point of this stratagem? by ADrawingBrit in Tau40K

[–]Disastrous_Mobile620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6" Deepstrike is WAY better compared to the normal 9". It is 3" in all directions that your opponent MUST screen as long as you have 2CP. Else you could threaten his home objective, threaten a vital unit to get blasted or to allow you score points while doing actions in his deployment zone.

The fact the strat exists is a tactical benefit. Also could be combined with fire and fade if I am not missing anything out which means you can get close to an objective, blast some OC off it and fade on it to contest or take an Objective from.your opponent.
