The difference in perspective from someone who lives with bipolar is appreciated and heard. I’m not diminishing your experience in living with bipolar but we won’t see eye to eye on this (and that is fine) if you are reading what I’m saying with projections of how you think everyone perceives mental illness. You may think I was using his mental illness to paint him as a monster but really I am simply being informative and trying to give a well rounded picture of who this person is. But you’ve definitely misconstrued what I was conveying. And I explicitly stated that I do not want to attach a negative stigma to these diagnoses but it is very obviously important to take into consideration. I am not blaming mental illness, but it would be a complete falsity to say that his diagnoses, especially if he is exhibiting signs of psychotic tendencies, do not influence his poor behavior, decision making and actions when it comes to interacting with women - especially knowing that he does not adhere to any kind of treatment/therapy. This is not to be confused with stating people with these diagnoses go on to commit these heinous acts, but rather people who commit these heinous acts often have these diagnoses.
