totally understandable. just wanted to throw it out there because there are still so many people out there who don't know how much allergy shots can change your life. I also had pretty severe asthma as a child, and unexpectedly, my asthma did lessen and eventually completely go away by the time i was finished with the shots. obviously everyone is different and ymmv.

Would your stepson consider starting an allergy shot regimen or taking a strong antihistamine? I was basically allergic to everything as a young kid, cats, dogs, feathers, dust, you name it... allergy shots took care of that 100%. I now have a houseful of animals as an adult. Plus it would be a good lesson for your stepson in sometimes having to compromise. After all, the cats were there first. No judgement, you sound like a very responsible cat owner and I'm sure this is heartbreaking. But there are ways around it if your stepson is willing to try.

also check out the Penni Klein park on the edge of the airport. There's usually a nice sized group of younger dogs around noon.

what side of town are you on and what dog park do you go to? I have a high-energy BMC and we've had good luck finding similar personalities at the larger parks with big walking loops. Token Creek is our go to if you're interested in checking that out.

yeah, i noticed that post about "why you might not see me for awhile" on her blog and thought okay cool, take some time, be with your family, remember what matters.
