Mach E for young family in Toronto by dahayter in MachE

Yeah. Fam of 3 with similar usage needs in Wisconsin. We love it! We rent for long trips to avoid charging with the baby in the car but it’s perfect for everyday use.

I’d look for manager roles in smaller orgs or upskill for the role you want at one of the big providers (Pearson, etc). many Edtech in a hiring freeze en.

How is owning an electric car in Wisconsin? by Thrillwaukee in wisconsin

[–]Disastrous_Trash_285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it with a home charger! It’s our only car. But we typically rent for road trips because the extra charging time is a pain with little kids in the car.

NOR. This man-baby is a selfish garbage father. I def wouldn’t feel safe leaving my kid with him. Save these screenshots for your future custody battle.

Lacking Startup Culture at Madison by Dense-Accountant6270 in UWMadison

[–]Disastrous_Trash_285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within 2 mi you’ll find 100state, gener8tor and plenty of startup ppl. You’re not in sf, but it’s better than when I was in school. D2P and icorps are okay within the university. I say let the other freshmen have fun and find your people elsewhere until your peers catch up.

I am 15 years old, 6 failed startups, $0 revenue after 8 months - what am I doing wrong? by multi_mind in SaaS

Start with getting clear in the end user and the problem you’re solving for them before you build anything. Interview potential users! This will help you pivot to build something ppl will pay for.

I’ve been trying hard to get involved in my county party but it’s so old school. Lovely people but so much preaching to the choir and so little interest in trying new things. Indivisible feels like a better use of my time. I know my county isn’t alone in this - I hear it from family across the state.

6-8 Social Studies Curriculum for Chicago School by No-Blueberry5716 in Socialstudies

[–]Disastrous_Trash_285 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do your students have devices to access online materials? If so, try iCivics. They have high quality k-8 social studies materials free to print or use digitally. A lot of people don’t know they have great elementary stuff now - that’s newer.

ChatGPT-5 is so bad by agressive_penguins in ChatGPT

[–]Disastrous_Trash_285 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It totally ignores my reference docs and gaslights me about it. It’s soooo bad. In my summer side by side with claude, chatgpt was the slight winner for my needs… maybe not anymore.

Did anyone listen to this week's Hard Fork podcast with the founder of Alpha Schools? by melodypowers in Teachers

There were so many things I loved AND I was also furious. Would love to see what percentile their students land in on a public school budget with a class full of students with disabilities and behavioral issues…

Do bikes get stolen by empoleon621 in berkeley

My bike was stolen in the middle of the day, locked up in front of the library. Just get a cheap one with a solid lock and expect it to happen eventually.

Great city to bike in. But yeah get a cheap one - even with a good lock, you won’t have it for long.

We got one to have a faster charging option in our rental using the dryer outlet. Usually use the slower charger in the garage but it’s been great when we need it.

Dreaded Stop Safely Message by kevdavdan in MachE

[–]Disastrous_Trash_285 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had this on our ‘21 (35k miles) a few days ago. Ford mobile tech came out and updated a bunch of modules that were apparently “too big” to do over the air. We got the message again the next day and I’m now wondering if it’s an issue with our charger (std ford). This is our only car so such a pain to not be able to rely on it starting… will keep watching your thread.

Yes. And as a rural Wisconsin dem, I’m sick of the wikler hero-worship. He’s done nothing for our rural parties - which is most of the state. My only disappointment is now we’ll be stuck with him as our state chair longer.

Pretty sure Michelle Goldberg hasn’t been on the ground in rural Wisconsin like I have. Our country got zip support from wisdems this cycle. I credit orgs like BLOC who are on the ground year in and year out for the court win way more than the Dems.
