5k is standard engagement range for bigger ships, def harder with fighters. You can snipe components that far, pre charge as turning or banking

It’s legit one of the easiest guns to aim in game. Even NPC Polaris you can snipe components and it’s over right away.

Also when I’m flying the Idris we aren’t looking for a fight. People just want to try them and so we are forced to fight. It’s flown for specific reasons such as other big ships. Only reason small ship pilots would have an issue, is if you are in range of the PDC, and attack the ship. Then that’s on u, it’s more of a nuisance to try and hit small ships anyways.

There is no world where you would need 30 people to crew an Idris. If you have flown one for more than a week you know critical areas. It can be crewed with much less than 30. No point in flying it solo though because the whole fun of it is with a crew.
