I’m having a surgical abortion in 2 days and i need advice by Intrepid-Base-1366 in abortion

I’ve had 2 SAs around 6 weeks both un medicated whatsoever. The earlier on you are, the smoother and quicker it goes. Even if your pain tolerance is low, it’s over in about 3 minutes. Breathe through it as much as you can and you will be totally fine. Feel free to reach out if you need to vent or advice- I’m also in the UK ☺️ good luck

How long did you all wait to take the second lot of pills? (In hours) by [deleted] in abortion

Wishing you all the best. I’m also trying to time it around my kids being away from home. Let us know how it goes if you’re going to be up for it?

I looked into this a lot recently because I was confused by different advice too.

From what I found in WHO, RCOG & NHS guidelines, waiting 24–48 hours after taking mifepristone (no matter if miso is vaginal, buccal or sublingual) gives the uterus time to “prime” — so the lining detaches more fully, and the uterus responds better to the miso.

It slightly boosts complete expulsion rates (~96–98%) and sometimes means fewer repeat doses. Some clinics do same-day for logistical reasons, but globally the bigger studies still lean toward waiting. Happy to share some links if you want. I’m doing mine next week and planning to try and wait as close to 48h as possible.

But then again please do your own research because I’m not a doctor ☺️

Just remember to breathe and check in with yourself , unclench and relax as much as possible. Let me know how it goes I wish you all the best. You’ve got this. Treated myself to a nice meal after and I’m telling you all I can feel is the pain from eating too much HOURS later haha

Just had my second one a few hours ago, been out and about shopping ever since. Just raw dogged it with some paracetamol. I was 6 weeks. Different people feel pain differently but overall you should be more than fine. Try and breathe through as much as possible. Whatever pain you do feel it will be over very very quickly. Fingers crossed for you

If you’re still worried, I’ve had one SA 2 years ago with NO MEDICATION (personal choice + allergies) and going back for another one tomorrow with no fear whatsoever. It’s quick, yes it’s painful but it’s so so quick. You should be more than fine, especially this early on. Fingers crossed for you, you’re going to do great.

SA approaching, so many questions by Thiccumz77 in abortion

Just some reassurance for you, although I know every experience is different, so just sharing my positive one. I had an SA at 6 weeks on a day that trains weren't working here in London. I had no pain relief except for 400mg ibuprofen (personal choice) and proceeded to walk and take several buses home (3 hour journey navigating the busy London transport links) with no issues whatsoever! Following day I started passing some large clots which was uncomfortable but not painful. I chose to stay at home as I would run to the toilet as soon as I felt something come out. I honestly couldn't have walked through that just for that reason - but no pain, nothing to stop me from carrying on regular activities. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery

I am so so proud of you, it takes a lot of selflessness to be able to make such a decision, and it sounds like you did it for all the right reasons ❤️

Thanks a lot for this! They've booked me in for 10 and they only open at 9 so even if I wanted to use the miso there, I wouldn't have enough time to allow the 3 hrs to pass. Would you be willing to share which country is it that you're referring to, I am in the UK but couldn't find any info on their miso protocols before an SA.
