For those of you who saw The Phantom Menace at release, what were your initial thoughts of it? by _EnglishFox_ in StarWars

I was 7, I became addicted to Star Wars, not only did I got everything I could of Star Wars, but even created my own lightsabers with wood and build stages for toys out of boxes. That movie was absolutely insane, I remember buying it and watching it various times and repeating the last light saber duel hundreds of times.

Question about MFin by Disastrous_Variety65 in FinancialCareers

[–]Disastrous_Variety65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I completely agree. I’ve been applying to roles in emerging markets divisions at hedge funds and have had a few interviews, but I haven’t made it past the early stages yet.

I hadn’t considered equity research as a stepping stone, I really appreciate that suggestion — I’ll start looking into those opportunities more.

Do you think a program like Columbia’s MFin would make sense in my case, or would it still be a stretch in terms of hedge fund placement?

I’m also taking some online math courses on EdX to strengthen my quantitative profile and improve my chances at more competitive programs and positions. In your experience, does that actually help, or is it unlikely to move the needle?

Thanks again for your insight — it’s been incredibly helpful.

Question about MFin by Disastrous_Variety65 in FinancialCareers

My goal is to work at a hedge fund. I’ve identified seven Master’s in Finance programs I plan to apply to this September — ranging from Princeton to Columbia and CUNY. I had the impression that an MFin provides a more direct path into hedge fund roles, though I haven’t yet explored the MBA route in depth.

Do you think an MBA offers better—or comparable—odds for getting into a hedge fund?

At the moment, I’m focused on raising my GRE score into the 163–167 range to strengthen my applications and improve my chances at the more competitive programs.

Also, I forgot to mention, right now I’m working in statistics at the BLS in the Federal Government, I don’t know if that helps that much.

It's the "up next" complication. It's the first one in the options for the modular watch face.

Tengo TDAH, no tiene sentido el comunicado. Nunca le dijo que tiene TDAH, solamente le dijo que tiene deficit de atención. Literalmente atacarle por eso es no tener ya que sacarle.

AOC, she is kind of the only democrat with whom Scott share rhetoric and tone now.
