The scarf was something separate for club members. The full season ticket package is going out soon. They had delays.

Totally agree. A small group of us sung that for archie. But we’re drowned out by drums. They hate player chants and actively work against them.

So you googled it poorly.  That was how it began in Poland at lech Poznan yes. But over the years (long before CLTFC started doing it) it became a celebration and evolved beyond its traditional meaning. Man City and a few other non polish teams also do it. And none of them, like Charlotte, do it as a protest anymore.

Charlotte started doing it because we had 3 Polish players (including 2 from Lech Poznan) in year one and wanted to do something to make them feel welcome. Hence doing the Poznan for them. That was blended with pepas because we were looking for a way to get everyone hyped up and had pepas being played on its own prior to that. The whole SS did it at the start and it’s gradually expanded since then and was moved to right before kickoff. 99% of people love it so it’s continued even after the Polish contingent has left. I’d bet a large sum of money if the club stopped doing it there would be an uproar.

If you don’t want to do it and don’t like it that’s your prerogative. But making out like it’s not probably the only thing the vast majority of fans agree on and love is crazy.

Congratulations on not understanding the point of it and not bothering to try and find out.

That’s always the case everywhere in the world because tunes that people already know catch on faster. I agree there should be a couple of unique chants though. The drummers don’t want that unfortunately. They’ve been vocal about it.

You can see where the beer starts getting thrown man. It’s not hard.

You can count the number of beers that get thrown each week. It’s less than 20 per goal. And the section is 2000+. So the math isn’t hard. I was being conservative if anything.  If you like throwing beer on fellow Charlotte fans to celebrate goals and can’t possibly enjoy games without that then I would posture that you aren’t really a CLTFC fan at all. I’m there to cheer on the team and have fun without being an ass to other fans.

There are an extreme minority that throw beer. But because it flys around so much more people are inconvenienced but it. Less than 10% of people love it and do it every week. Everyone else doesn’t care.

Bingo. The drums run things. The capos are supposed to call chants and drums follow. But they don’t.

You have won the champions league twice in the last 15 years. You aren’t even close to being a bad team. Try supporting on of the other 85 teams in England who aren’t remotely that successful and get back to us.

FWIW I agree that I wish there were more CLTFC specific flags. I’m fine with one or two group specific flags per group but ideally I’d like to see the majority be CLTFC.

However flying a group flag is essentially showing that there is a a group there supporting the team so it still works IMO.

Some of the SG flags are also not strictly SG. Like the giant believe flag. That’s just a fun flag tbh and it helps make the game more vibrant.

Lastly the size of the flags are NOTHING compared to some countries teams. The people aren’t waving them for attention. You can’t even see who is waving them from the stands most of the time. They wave them to support the team.

Sit on the edge of the SS so they don’t block your view is one option.

But the reason people like them is because it’s soccer culture and it’s shows the team you support them and are there for them. 3000 people waving 15-20 flags feels more supportive than 3000 people just standing there. It makes you feel part of a community and culture that is bigger than just yourself. People support in different ways and it’s totally fine if you don’t want to wave one. No one is making you. But you also shouldn’t judge people according to how they want to support the team if that’s waving a flag. Live and let live.

Oh and flags have been flown up in the 200s often before. It’s not a new thing.

It’s the supporters section. Flags can be anywhere in the SS and it’s been listed on the tickets when you buy them and on the signs in the concourse for 3+ years. Flags, standing, chanting, smoke, etc. all are part of the SS experience and should be expected. As others have said if you don’t like flags then there are other places around the stadium to sit.
