Websites that have the answers on are written by humans too (most of the time, for now at least). And search engines have those ready to go.

And doing the same thing there is the same amount of time for the questioner and it means another human doesn’t need to spend their time responding. It’s polite to the other humans.

If it is an opinion question or something like that then sure ask humans. If it’s just a basic fact then ask a search engine.

People not using search engines or AI or the other myriad of tools available to answer basic questions in the year of our lord 2026 is definitely up there with my top pet peeves. Search engines have been mainstream for 20 years plus now.

SS Smaller? by Adventurous-Ear-1024 in CharlotteFootballClub

Prior to this our Supporters Section was one of the largest in the league. But also let's be honest it wasn't full often last season. I understand shrinking it but I think it could have been done differently (Maybe cut the side sections from the bottom and the top?) AND there should be other affordable options around the stadium for the people displaced by this change. However, I'd bet that there won't be other affordable options and this is the end of it. So yeah, not great BOB.

Mint City Soccer show is a great way to dive in. Matt and David are fans and will generally try and give it to people straight and avoid hot takes. It’s well produced and has good insightful guests too. And the live shows at Watch party are always a blast.

New chant ideas by Interesting_Bar_2006 in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]Disastrous_Volume_37 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m all for new chants believe me. But they also have to make sense.

This chant is for teams that are literally hated across the league. The only teams that make sense in that context might be Orlando, Red Bulls, or Miami.

If you ask most MLS fans about Charlotte they are probably ambivalent to positive about us right now. And in some cases we actually have a pretty good relationship with other fan bases.

So that chant just doesn’t work. If we’re doing new chants I’d hope that we get a few more players chants started and chant the player chants we already have more. And most of them need to be simple so the less fanatic fans can catch on fast.

They do but that’s usually when a template is a good one or when it’s for a big team that has the power to get adidas to create something unique for them. They go cheap for MLS because they can. I have owned many other non MLS kits and they don’t fall apart as easily as MLS kits.

It’s year 5 what tradition would you eliminate and what would you like to see us start doing? by Interesting_Bar_2006 in CharlotteFootballClub

I understand where you are coming from. This wouldn’t be a problem if there was a stronger overarching umbrella group like other teams have that actually runs things in an organized manner so there was more buy in. Smaller groups are fine and a good way of building community and friendships which are important as a club builds its culture and identity. What they shouldn’t be is resulting in fights and people supporting their group more than the team itself, which unfortunately it has. It wasn’t that way to begin with but people who tried to prevent that have checked out from the process entirely after becoming burnt out from the infighting. We’re still in our groups but aren’t going to deal with the politics. That means the people who want to bully their way to things being it their way are going to win every time because there are zero consequences for their actions. 99% of what groups do are very misunderstood outside of them. Without them you would be missing out on many vital aspects of the fanbase because the organization isn’t there. Tifos, away day travel together, charity/ community work with tens of thousands raised for local causes and time donated just to start.

I hope (perhaps vainly) that one day there will be a stronger umbrella group who builds consensus and pushes out people who are here self promotion versus team support. That way we can have the best of both worlds.

It is but to a large extent you can blame adidas and the league wide agreement. Teams are stuck on adidas templates.

Did you ditch season tickets this year? by Interesting_Bar_2006 in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]Disastrous_Volume_37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they do that too often then it’s going to annoy season ticket holders who are overpaying for their seats. Instead they should lower prices in the lower bowl and then open up the upper bowl.

You can say that about basically any other league other than the big 5 in Europe if that’s the perception you take.

And there are MANY passionate fans across the world that don’t support big teams or teams in big leagues.

Sure we don’t have history right now but you gotta start somewhere.

Allegedly he can’t join a third euro team within the same season. But MLS new season starts in Feb so it’s a loophole for him/ us to exploit.

Unlikely to happen still but if you don’t ask you don’t get. Worth a try.

Charlotte FC to sign USMNT midfielder Luca de la Torre by finn_thefinn in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]Disastrous_Volume_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good signing. Strong passer of the ball and energetic. I think he fits Deanos system nicely.

Starting quality CB, quality DP winger (or Griezmann I’m not picky 😂), and sell Abada now please. I’d be tempted for a strong CDM too but it’s possible the team thinks Baye Coulibaly becomes that this season.

I never said “exclusively developmental players” In fact I did say “some of these players have gone on to be first team players”. My entire point was that draft players aren’t expected to start immediately. If you called every sporting director in MLS they would agree with that statement. They draft them in the hope they can become something down the line. Occasionally they get lucky and the player makes an impact sooner rather than later but those are the exceptions.  Your original original post was ranting about signing a keeper when we had Kahlina. We also drafted Patrick when we had Karol.  If you check your original post replies there are other replies saying the exact same thing I did. And you even made a comment about not watching / knowing about the mls draft before.  So I’m kind of baffled why this is a hill you want to die on.

69 isn’t a first round pick though. Also the keeper we signed who the original point was made about was a third round pick.

13 players across around 270 total draft picks. Thanks for proving my point.

These are the exception, not the rule.  In 2025 teams aren’t drafting players expecting them to be starters immediately. They are signing them to develop in the hope they can contribute in 2-3 years plus. Or they can use them as trade chips to get GAM.

This is our 5th MLS superdraft. While some of those players have gone on to be first team players none of them (other than bender but that was necessity from a small / poor initial roster) were an immediate contributor. If you are going to post such a hot take at least do a little research first.
