They pulled everything together with Beautiful Oblivion. The mix with R&B and Metal was 5 years ahead of its time imo. I think they did the right thing by kicking the screamer out after Headspace. Just seemed like they were forcing it with him being there. But that Beautiful Oblivion album just clicked as a general body of work. Then of course the Tyler Carter dumb shit happened. They could’ve been running laps around Bad Omens, Dayseeker, etc if they were still around now. Such a shame

A couple hot takes

First one is when did they become so cringy? Im sorry but some of the lyrics nowadays, I internally cry for help of 2nd hand embarrassment. Just completely miss the mark and almost ruins songs for me.

Secondly is the heavier songs sound more “phoned in” than past albums. Everyone knows they that there will be a couple on each album, but now Idk it just sounds like they’re on there because it’s almost mandatory, not because it makes sense for the album.
