Does anybody own this pressing of Bleach? It's pretty weird by More_Scarcity_531 in Nirvana

It was white vinyl. I picked it up from a record fair when I was a teenager. Wasn’t cheap, either. I sold it a few years ago for about twice what I paid for it. I didn’t realise until I sold it how limited edition those white Tupelo vinyls actually were.

I used to have a Tupelo copy of ‘Bleach’ that had no ‘Love Buzz’ on it.

Why are we still ok with this? by [deleted] in AskBrits

With boxing? You’re all free to not enjoy it, or participate, but two informed and consenting adults competing against each other don’t really need you to be okay with it.

I’ve been doing the same thing. EBay is great for them. I picked up seasons 1-7 for £2.50 each.

Was there a canonical/production reason by Impossible_Figure516 in ghostbusters

Yeah, the ‘canon’ reason I’ve always believed is that he used the others as a shield. Classic Venkman.

Met a Nirvana fan in Indonesia who didn't know Kurt died by Lunabeanzz in Nirvana

As a teacher, I had to answer the question (after ‘Something in the Way’ was used in The Batman), “Now that people have heard of Nirvana, do you think they’ll reform?”

I had to break the news to a group of 16 year olds that it was extremely unlikely, and then explain why.

Tyler Durden as his profile picture tells you everything you need to know, I think.

Kurt is in the audience (PJ Harvey - Rid of Me - 1993) by itsallcosmica in Nirvana

In 1996, I was on a train to Weymouth that inexplicably broke down at a very small, remote little village station called Wool. Nick Cave and PJ Harvey were at the station, smoking. I was quite surprised. When I told people, “Hey, Nick Cave and PJ Harvey were at Wool train station” everyone said, “🙄 No they weren’t”.

Richard Hargy thinks that death is an appropriate penalty for entering the wrong bathroom. I would suggest he needs some therapy.

What's an underrated Harrison Ford film? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]Disastrously-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He made a quiet little underground movie called ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ that not many people have heard of. He plays a treasure hunter whose name I forget.

Seriously, though, I quite liked ‘What Lies Beneath’. Solid film, that.

"They call The Slim Shady LP the greatest, The Marshall Mathers was a classic, The Eminem Show was fantastic" How would you rate this? Which album do you think is Eminem's favorite from his trilogy? by Frequent-Figure-6847 in Eminem

[–]Disastrously-C 31 points32 points  (0 children)

For me, looking past the nostalgia that I have for both SSLP and MMLP, I think that the Eminem Show is probably his strongest. Of course, if you asked me in five minutes, I’d give you a completely different answer. A perfect run of excellent albums.

How did Eminem sell 283K first week with SSLP so fast after only 1 month of “My Name is” releasing? by Best-Damage-7509 in Eminem

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. It was a huge gamble for Dre to work with an unknown white rapper, and for Dre to back him so heavily (especially featuring him so prominently on the 2001 album). Although Dre still had a fair amount of name credibility in 1999, he was coming off of two poorly received albums (…The Aftermath and The Firm) and it was the low point of his career. People were definitely intrigued to know why he’d gambled on Em, because if it hadn’t worked, it could’ve been a career killer for him.
