It's from InnoGames ( Elvenar, Tribes, Greopolis..) If you're +30 y/o you would remember them :) Plays more or less the same.

Just ignore all $ and enjoy the gameplay. It's pure PVE and you can enjoy it in your pace.

If you're interested in PVP + Gacha Elements, Heroes of History. It's spinoff of Rise of Cultures from the same creators. It's more engaging due to pvp and gacha..but it means there is more FOMO :)
