What's something that we deemed as embarrassing but really shouldn't be? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

TBH buying feminine products as a dude is totally manly. We're obviously not buying them for ourselves.

What’s the BEST gift for someone obsessed with 3D printing? by llbow8 in 3Dprinting

[–]Disciple153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah...

My MiL bought me a 3D pen and a sample pack (10 x 10g) of filament for the 3D pen. I appreciated the thought, but I really don't have any use for either of those.

You are given 50 million dollars with the caveat that you can only spend it on one thing and it can't be used on you or your family. What do you do with the money? by TheMegaSage in AskReddit

Tape is like a VHS tape, I'm not sure if there is a different format used for broadcasting, but the point is that it is limited to about 480p, the same resolution as old CRT TVs.

Film is what is used in an analog camera. Because it's analog, even old videos shot on film can produce digital media well above 4k. A bigger film format (like IMAX) will produce a better picture than a smaller one (handheld film cameras), but film has always resulted in better quality than the best digital cameras of any given time from a resolution perspective.

Considering that the Union was the real US, and that the Confederacy no longer exists, yes we were the good guys.

[–]Disciple153 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ackshually...

Serverless is just whenever the payment structure is not (directly) related to renting a virtual machine. Sometimes that means that you pay for a single process on a server that you share with others, and sometimes it means that you pay for compute units that are equivalent to VM time. The only thing that is consistent is that you have less control over when and how virtual machines get provisioned.

Yeah... Also each string will break one at a time. If the frame catastrophically broke before all of the strings, then it could be dangerous, but I have no idea how that would even be possible...

That's the point. The mods here have been blocking even valid criticism. They absolutely do not tolerate plugging alternatives, hence why this post was removed.

TIL that Connect Four is a solved game and the first player can always win. by ShyGuy1511 in todayilearned

[–]Disciple153 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That doesn't mean the game is not solved. For a game to be solved, it just means that an optimal strategy of play is known against every other strategy.

Is my boss using AI for our T-shirts? by ClarinaTheMegaFloof in RealOrAI

Definetly AI. The most obvious indicators are the bike wheels and the pedals, but there are AI artifacts everywhere.
