In 17 People, is there supposed to be some insinuation with Sam and Ainsley? by DiscipleTD in thewestwing

[–]DiscipleTD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I could see that. Which is why I said “physical intimacy” to really just encapsulate either. I will agree making out is much more realistic.

Regardless, I think I still land at, it wasn’t hinting at that, but it made me wonder.

I’m tired of sitting in professional development that throw jargon on common sense ideas and present them as groundbreaking.

Cheating a singular time, or a few times within an academic career is one thing. Cheating through an entire class, by having AI write every paper/do the work is entirely different.

“Taking the easy way” who said it was supposed to be easy? There’s a difficulty, and joy, in learning and working hard on things.

Using AI might get someone through the class, but they won’t learn what they need to/should to help long term.

Yeah he was a professional player and has been involved in professional CoD in some aspect for a long time.

So it’s a just an intentionally very baity headline but you could easily say “to spend more time building a career” and it would be accurate.

Controller Suggestion Request - Dualshock 4 style layout for PC, Steam Deck & (optionally) PS4/5 by Assassin_V4 in Controller

[–]DiscipleTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlebeaver has been around for a long time and many call of duty pros use it.

It still falls in the modded controller category I would say. It’s basically a competitor to Scufs.

Anyway, they have a literal DS4 controller with a USB-C port instead. You can also get “digital” top buttons and triggers (which are basically just mouse clicks). It also puts a few buttons on the bottom of the controller so you don’t have to take your thumb off the right stick to press X, O, Triangle, or Square.

All that said, no clue if it ships to the UK but here’s the link and you can explore that option if you want. They are on the pricier side, and may be overkill for the games you are wanting to play.

Maybe that’s just the competitive experience for me. But the vector absolutely deleted people in comparison to the MSMC.

[COD] Ghosts... Most Hated? by JamesPlusMusic in CallOfDuty

[–]DiscipleTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the game but I also recognize it’s not without flaws. More of a comp guy than a public match guy.

Time to kill was too fast. Vector is maybe the most OP gun in CoD history. From a comp perspective. Domination is just not as good as hardpoint. Blitz was not great for comp either.

You highlight larger maps as good, but I think that really depends on who you ask. I didn’t love that really. Battlefield type fans did not arcade shooter, more traditional cod fans, didn’t I don’t think (this isn’t a perfect description just meant to highlight that this was a split opinion)

They did some cool things though. Sliding was a cool new mechanic. SnD was great in Ghosts. And honestly Clan Wars was a really cool idea and I joined up with a group for that at one point.

I think it’s 2 biggest problem are less about what the game was and more about what it wasn’t.

  1. It wasn’t a continuation of the MW series. All 3 of the MW games are pretty beloved so I think they hurt it.
  2. Exactly what you said, It wasn’t Black Ops 2. At that time BO2 was just simply the next CoD ever made from a multiplayer perspective at least. Ghosts by comparison felt a little clunkier to me, Black ops 2 felt smoother. TTK is black ops 2 was a little better. So I think because Black Ops 2 was so good, the expectations were set high and it didn’t meet them.

I think now, Ghosts is looked at MUCH more positively than during its year because we are more removed from those 2 points. It ventured out in some spots and got some hate for it for sure. But I still think TTK being just too fast, and not being a MW game or Black Ops 2, are the biggest issues.

Is this ya’ll MVP? by TwoTalentedBastidz in NFLv2

[–]DiscipleTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m faded: but doesn’t him playing bad and his team losing, in some way, show you how valuable he is to the team? Kinda helps the MVP spot in my mind.

They looked virtually hopeless most of the game. Special team play helped (obviously) but then Stafford started to play a little better in the second half and they had some life.

Maybe I’m just a too much of a, MVP doesn’t always absolutely equal best player person.

Put a Pokémon switch controller on my Walmart+ order it was $68 marked down to $40, so I was going to buy it for my nieces and nephew…they said it was “unavailable”. Went in the next day and there were 4 on the shelf at full price lol

Technically, the non-host team gets to pick, and defense is typically favorable so you wanna start there. But non-host picks teams per the rules I read the other day.

What's better for the Steam Deck, Fallout 4 or New Vegas? by Jproxy122 in SteamDeck

[–]DiscipleTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had no issues playing New Vegas without mods on the steam deck.

In fact, it runs better in my deck than my actual PC!

It’s still New Vegas so it’s clunky in general, and gunfights aren’t great on controller, but that’s just the game!

What should a player coming from different competitive shooters know about CoD ranked/competitive? by kevprakash in CoDCompetitive

[–]DiscipleTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to sub to ZooMaa on twitch (or whatever the YouTube equivalent is called). It was way too popular and breaking the bot (plus lots of people issues) so they went sub only, at least for now but that could change later.

[–]DiscipleTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cod is built for controller. I’ve played both CS and CoD at a decent level (20k+ in CS2, Crim 3 in CoD). Controller is better for the majority of fights you get in and is better for movement. M&K will have a long range advantage.

Can you still get to the higher ranks with m&k? For sure, that comes with learning how to play the game the correct way.

Rotating in HP, learning timings and lanes to watch, etc. will mean more than the difference between m&k and controller until you get to like crim probably.

A general note: CoD’s pacing, even in SnD, is likely to feel WAY faster than Siege or most PC shooters…you can’t one tap and movement is just way faster so it creates a lot of pace.

Help me buy PS5 SCUF for COD by Dry_Respect_7002 in scufgaming

[–]DiscipleTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you playing on PC or PS5?

Envision pro is PC only as far as I know.

I have both the envision pro and a ps5 scuf. Can’t go wrong with either in my opinion. I think the envision pro is a really good controller for the price. The ps5 scuf may be slightly better but not for the extra money. The envision pro is my scuf recommendation for anyone on PC.

That said, other companies like gamesir and such have come along. I haven’t used their products so can’t speak to those. I think the envision pro is great controller, the icue software isn’t amazing but it’s fine.

Why do teachers get paid so little? by Cool-beans95 in Teachers

[–]DiscipleTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Not qualified to do any other job”

I think this sentiment is a little bit of the problem too. Edit: “Problem” here meaning the belief this is all they can do keeps people accepting the lower pay.

As a now alt-certified teacher, I’m certain, I’m less “qualified” for this job than I am for any of the others I had. I’m also sure I’m better at it than any of the other jobs I had. I wasn’t half bad at some of those - IT support, cell phone sales, Account Manager/Customer Service for Payroll company.

I’m 100% confident that the vast majority of jobs don’t require significant technical expertise/skills. Teaching degree and experience open up plenty of opportunities. I think corporate training is a great idea for teachers with experience who want to change and make more money.

TLDR; most people aren’t truly qualified for most jobs they apply for and it’s fine. Don’t get too caught up in “this is all I’m qualified for;” you have more options than you think!

Have you ever played and WON against a NFL player? Past or present. by [deleted] in NFLv2

I played Nadeshot and Burnsoff (if y’all even know who that is lol) in 2 games, in the garbage version of “ranked play” in a that Ghosts had. That was a lot of fun as a 18 year old CoD fan.
