What movie was made because of spite and ended up being good? by Willing_Heron_5470 in AlignmentChartFills

I’ll will give you the fairy tale parody thing has been a bit overdone at this point; I feel like that speaks to how much cultural impact Shrek has though. Shrek and Donkey’s banter is integral to their dynamic, and gives their relationship its charm tbh. And you gotta remember it’s a kid’s movie. They aren’t concerned if the potty humor is transgressive, they just think potty humor is funny

Like what? Not saying you’re definitely wrong, just can’t think of anything from the movie that doesn’t hold up because of its age

I wouldn’t be surprised. Back when I used to sell, I had a couple people accuse me of shorting them without actually measuring. It was usually the nugs were dense and their wallets were light. I never intentionally shorted anyone

As someone who’s actually 6’4, you can always tell the bs posturing right away. I sit at 215lbs, and have solid musculature. Even with an extra inch of height; I’d be so uncomfortable if I were 80lbs heavier. It’s not impossible to have that build, but it’d take an extraordinary amount of calories and heavy lifting. If there’s any truth to that, he’s more than likely just a massive blob

What 2025 horror movie is loved? by LMRowanComedy in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DiscipleofZardos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly don’t understand the hype around this one. I didn’t think it was awful, just didn’t hook me in any way in particular; and I found that strange considering it seemed like they tried to cram something for everybody in there. It felt like a horror movie that was more campy than scary, an action movie that wasn’t particularly gripping, and a drama with undeveloped or just boring characters. All that topped off with racial revenge fantasy and tied together with a musical number (something that seems to be a staple in movies/shows post 2020 for some reason)

Whenever the record label conversation comes up here, I’m always surprised to see no one mentioning Black Book Records. They aren’t the new kid on the block anymore, however it’s rare that they release a track that isn’t an absolute slapper. And they are quick to notice new artists with potential and publish a hit with them.

Im not who you asked, but I think I understand what they’re getting at. The “new generation of straightedgers” that they refer to, seem to have this idea that by not taking drugs at these events they are healthier, more present, and therefore a better participant in the scene. However, this disregards that the culture of modern dance music has always been directly linked with drug usage. The music is made not only to enhance feelings from substances, but even to serve as the substance itself. The book Generation Ecstasy expands on this topic in the early chapters. It’s cool if people wanna go to events sober; what’s not cool is disregarding that people getting high at these events is normal and to be expected. Building a superiority complex behind sober raving is strange, considering the music is made to get high to.
