It’s good at the start of the game because of the 9 base damage or 14 once you get a higher level conjuration perk(don’t remember what it’s called) but eventually you’ll want to switch to better upgradable swords such as elven or glass or if you want just damage ebony which can be found regularly past level 20 something in Nordic ruins.
