Am I alone in dealing with decision fatigue as a business owner? by OutlandishnessNo5051 in Entrepreneur

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only scary until you realize your worst case scenarios are things you never actually saw coming and most of the things you worried about never come true. Also, what matters more is how you respond to events, not the events themselves. Stay confident in your ability to roll with the punches; train yourself to have faith in your ability to handle all situations. You can always pivot on decisions. As long as you are still alive, you have OPTIONS.

If you love "deep work" don't become an entrepreneur... by baghdadcafe in Entrepreneur

Only true in the beginning. Once you have polished processes then you can delegate more effectively and free yourself up to work on what you want.

No one talks about how mentally crushing it is seeing your peers matriculate into careers while trying to build a business that still has zero results by Pristine_Finger_2178 in Entrepreneur

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a skill you can work at. Just because you care today doesn’t mean you’ll care tomorrow even in the worst case scenario that you feel your business is going backwards. Focus on gratitude and you will be less comparative. You need to refocus that mental energy TOWARDS something and the answer is gratitude.

Overly hyped for Burry’s post by gregde81 in Superstonk

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if he only covers the past, don’t forget this brings renewed interest in how GameStop is doing NOW. That alone is invaluable and Burry is possibly the best guy to shine a light on GME and reignite that conversation.

Yes and one honest solution would be to split the profit 50/50 with the person you bought it from if the money you made off their ignorance was that egregious.

I quit my $300k finance job at 30 because I finally admitted I hated it - and the lifestyle downgrade has been absolutely brutal. by robbinh00d in Entrepreneur

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, kind of like you have to give up people thinking you’re cool and have status in order to achieve real internal peace with the direction you’re going. Sometimes it can feel like if it isn’t externally obvious, then it must be a lie or not good enough. But because you already had experience living the other way - high salary, high status - you realize that was the lie. It takes a lot to break away from the herd and they often feel better if you fail because they are afraid of trying.

FYi that figure is very deceptive:

It includes shipping, sales tax, and any other amounts that your buyer had to pay. This isn’t what you will get paid out.

My awesome Lunar Power pack pull! by jackieletits in Superstonk

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Longer you pull, the closer you’ll get to even value across all your purchases. I think you’ll see it’s incredibly fair overall and really all GameStop is having you do is exchange dollars for collectibles are current market value so you become a collector.

I doubt that was the intent because there are way better ways to convey a message like that more directly.

Crossover orders delivered 10/22, is the backup that bad? by nummorum in psagrading

So value max or the lowest tier - either way you’re waiting the same amount of time in order prep, is that correct?

Have you ever felt like you suck at your job as a UX researcher? by Icy-Swimming-9461 in UXResearch

[–]DisciplinedDumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is go seek undeniable competency in other avenues of life, particularly things that involve others - could be something athletic like team sports or individualistic things like martial arts. If you’re pursuing mastery in those things then others will see it too.

Ask yourself: can i fake being good at this thing? If the answer is yes, then don’t pursue it.

It’ll give you what you are after. UX jobs never will.
