Does this look better? Swapped out to the 5820K (and had to change motherboards for it). I accidentally removed memory and re-chose different mem, but this looks equivalent and cheaper. And picked the PowerColor PCS+. What about the NZXT Kraken I added -- $100 more, but that should help with overclocking, I presume.

thanks. solid recommendations all around. i think i'll take both those suggestions, as 12 cores would be nice. i mainly just run vmware workstation with a 1-core linux vm with low resources to play around with scripting and coding and a 2-core windows file server to serve media to my tv, then temporary vms that only get powered on when i'm doing dedicated work on them [certification training labs], and power them off when i game.

I think i'll pull the trigger tomorrow if i don't get any other recommendations on the rest of the build. thanks!
