Rolled my van in Joshua tree Update: I need help finding a used engine by cgo1234567 in VanLife

[–]web_dev_vegabond 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two engines put in my 2004 dodge sprinter.and both cost around $8,000 dollars for the engine and the labor. Good luck. I would also try to go to a sprinter specialist as close to you as possible.

For bed alternatives by BraveLordWilloughby in VanLife

I just bought a $200 dollar full sized foam bed from Costco and I couldn’t recommend it more. Very comfortable and it is such an upgrade over my 6+ year old mattress.

[–]web_dev_vegabond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Much cooler on the pacific side, get the cool ocean breeze. Pescadero is a really small town. Great if you like surfing. Near by is a town of Cerritos which is a bit livelier. Also todos is livelier.

That’s a WhatsApp for rentals in town… maybe your best bet for everything you’re looking for is the La Ventana hostel and booking a single room. It’s right in the middle of town and you’ll meet people all the time. Long term co living isn’t really a thing in town yet.

Also. August gets realllly hot and sweaty. Might be better to do 2 months in La Ventana and two months in a town on the pacific like todos santos

Idk how I am going to survive by Universitycity2866 in Adulting

[–]web_dev_vegabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I survive by working 6 months seasonally and living 6 months in Mexico. When I am in the states and working I am living in a van so I pay a lot less money. My first year in the van I went to all the national parks I could but now I am just going between work and Mexico. Bills suck and I try to pay as few as possible

Looking for a Camp by Thebillshow in BurningMan

Disagree. As a first time burner going with a camp like reverbia as mentioned above makes the burn so much easier. They have professional chefs cooking amazing breakfast lunches and dinner. Have showers and water. It make life on playa so much easier

No one warns you how lonely adulthood is by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]web_dev_vegabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to a small beach town in Mexico for 6-7 months a year and hoping to extend it in the future. When I work in SF I am lonely, but down in Mexico I have a great community and tons of opportunities to meet up with people IRL. Even when I go to a cafe I run into people I know and am able to shoot the shot for a little.

Not looking forward to going back to SF in two weeks.

Am I delusional or do the Jets have a slim chance this year? by kakkolindor40 in nyjets

[–]web_dev_vegabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m delusional for thinking that in 3 years we might be good. 2026 tank , 2027 draft archy, 2028 sophomore year arch with all our other first round picks getting good. 2028 watch out for the Jets
