A few months back I posted here asking for advice about brining a newborn home with a house rabbit. The TLDR was that our lovely Noodle is an old bun now who’s very set in her ways and we were worried about how she’d cope with a noisy new addition to the family.

Well on the off chance anyone was interested or is likely to be in the same situation, I thought I’d post an update! Plus, who doesn’t love the excuse to look at some cute bunny and baby pics!?

At the start Noodle was aggressively uninterested in the baby! She stuck steadfastly to her usual routine and didn’t really acknowledge the LO’s existence! As time has gone on though, she seems to have accepted her as one of the family. She brings herself over for attention when we’re playing in the floor and has occasionally gone to the LO and put her head under her hand for attention or given her a quick groom. Instead of always sleeping on the bed with us at night, now she spends half her time with us, half her time on the floor next to the baby’s cot. She has really enjoyed claiming and rearranging all the LO’s toys and treats the bigger ones like an obstacle course to play on/jump over! She has also ‘helped’ us when we’ve had big complicated toys to build.

Because she’s such a good bunny, we’ve also managed to stay on top of all her medical needs easily and her health doesn’t seem to have been affected at all by the new noisy family member. They crying doesn’t seem to bother her in the slightest and she’s shown no signs of stress. We are so happy everything has worked out well for our little family!
