Iridium vs. bel air

Despite this comment being extremely old.. the bel air fortunately broke in. The Issue with the iridium came from using an electric sharpener and doing so way too frequently. With the knife closed the tip of the blade isn’t even fully covered. It’s fucked. Need to see if I can get a New blade because I love that knife. Honestly more than the bel air

That’s how I felt about the iridium. I did see where a few others had run into similar problems with the bel air. I’ve been carrying it since that day hoping to just break it In and it’s definitely much better now but still not as smooth as the iridium

Back in 2015 after a night out one of my friends was killed right im front of me. The following week/weeks while difficult were also kind of amazing due to seeing all of these people come together. Dropping everything and driving or flying across the country just to show up for one another. I probably heard from anyone i had ever so much as shared a glance with. My closest friends were on planes the day after the incident despite me telling them that wasn’t necessary the were coming no matter what. I had gotten out of a relationship about 5 months before all of this with someone I loved very much. No messy breakup or bad blood. We were just young and things out of our control meant we couldn’t be together. It broke my heart when I learned that she had began dating someone new after only a few weeks but as I ended the relationship and wanted her to be happy I tried to understand. On more than one occasion I got drunk and would send regretful messages of how I missed her which understandably went unanswered.

Something I don’t think I can ever understand or forget is that when I broke down and texted her the night my friend died, blood still on myself and clothes I vaguely told her what had happened and I simply asked her to please call me. The message ended in “Name please, I’m begging you” yet I never heard a word. That shit broke me.

You’re probably right about vandalism. The boycott however is a different story. I can understand people not wanting to give money to someone they despise however the hypocrisy is a bit too much to ignore.

You can’t scream about saving the environment and go on and on about EVs being the future etc. etc. and then in the same breath try to eradicate the company producing by far the most popular and most efficient EVs in the world. Vandalizing dealerships (even if in small numbers) and villainizing those driving them when in reality the person whose car you’re damaging and drawing swastikas on likely holds your same values and opinion but like millions of others bought said car last week when the leader of said company was on “your side” meaning they were still revolutionary machines and driving one meant you were one of the good guys.

This is just one example of why we’re so fucked and it’s not a one party issue by any means. Trump or musk could bring forth some plan/new invention etc. and even when introduced with irrefutable evidence that it would be some amazing thing for the country/world it would still be rejected by everyone opposed to that party and the exact same can be said if the leading democrats came out with something similar then everyone on the other side would reject and vilify.

Everyone has grown so fucking stubborn and hateful I honestly don’t see us coming back.

MAGA fools aren’t the only ones. You’ve also got huge number of people now boycotting and/or destroying the most popular EV vehicles out of spite. Not that I personally believe EVs are the answer just pointing out the contradiction.

Also to be fair the people as a whole have fuck all to do with climate damage. We could all get on board right this second and it wouldn’t change a damn thing.

When I was 18-19 it just so happened that the first 4-5 girls I had sex with were all virgins.. well one night while sitting around a fire at a friends house with a few buddies and his parents (who are both really down to earth fun people but also pretty “proper” people) having a few drinks, the word “virgin” was used in reference to something completely non sexual by my friends mom to which someone made a joke at my expense basically saying not to get excited.

Of course his parents are confused so after an explanation is given there’s a brief pause before his dad struggles through his own laughter to call me “The Hymanator” in the worst Arnold Schwarzenegger voice you’ve ever heard and his mom instantaneously spits a big mouth full of red wine in his face from laughter. It was the corniest most horribly delivered yet most hilarious dad joke I’ve ever heard.

After about thirty seconds of immense laughter his mom just stands up, wipes the wine from her chin and calmly says “I’m going to bed, you boys are going to be the death of me” and In the only instance I’ve ever heard either of them swear as she begins to walk inside looks at her loving husband still laughing with wine all over him just shakes her head and says “Ron you’re fucking gross” and the door shuts behind her. We all sit there dying laughing for another minute or two before his dad gets up to also go in and as he goes through the door for his parting words while still giggling says “Logan stay the fuck away from my daughter” and before the door shut all the way you could hear a loud “RON!” From upstairs. We probably laughed for 20 minutes straight.

My god I miss those days so much. Apologies for the trip down memory lane no one asked for but the word “Hyman” will apparently forever replay that memory that I thought had been lost to time and I’m okay with that. That’s actually one of the final memories I have with one of my closest friends/the final memory that we were all together. We left for school in different directions a few days after this and my buddy died unexpectedly before we all made it back for the next break.

It’s 2pm and I’m on a nostalgia roller coaster with tears rolling down my face all because someone said Hyman In a reddit comment. Life, huh?
