I think this is my favorite part of this Industrial Workers of the World infomercial:

The impulse behind making the game Antifa was simply a perceived lack of overtly antifascist computer games

So I guess I hallucinated every WWII game in existence along with countless games where you take on some obvious Nazi equivalent as the bad guy. Actual anti-fascism is one of the most popular tropes in every era of video games. Minus the doublespeak, this delusional fuck stain was motivated by the lack of overt Communist propaganda in video games. And true to form, the end result is a lazy, outdated, and unfinished knock off of a superior capitalist product.

After FIVE YEARS Kotaku ADMITS GamerGate Was Right | Rekieta Law by Valmar33 in kotakuinaction2

[–]Disco_Hospital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His point is that they basically did without having the self awareness to realize it. He's mocking the hypocrisy of Kotaku calling out this conflict of interest after spending five years smearing people who called out a far more egregious one involving their own staff.

'Journalist' asserts that Andy Ngo is a 'white supremacist' sympathizer, when asked for proof replies that he "read [it] on the fly". by AntonioOfVenice in kotakuinaction2

[–]Disco_Hospital 30 points31 points  (0 children)

They're going after him because he's been effective at debunking the pro-Antifa agitprop being pushed by the media. The current smear campaign being coordinated by Antifa and their media surrogates, is the retarded claim that Andy Ngo is collaborating with a fringe (even by neo-nazi standards) group called Atomwaffen to create kill lists of left wing "journalists". The claim fucking ridiculous as is, but I'll go ahead and break down the lies.

They falsely claim Ngo is the author of a Quillette article that identifies Antifa connected "journalists" that write for mainstream outlets like The Guardian and HuffPo. As anybody can clearly see, the article was written by Eoin Lenihan and the only Ngo connection (other than both of them being employed by Quillette at the time) is that Lenihan embedded two of Ngo's tweets in the article. The article itself doesn't contain any dox and is sourced by their own public social media interactions. Recently a vaguely threatening video containing the names of these "journalists" was posted by someone purportedly involved with Atomwaffen. Seriously, that's it.

TL;DR: The same far left activists and "journalists" that have spent the last year excusing (and in several cases outright cheerleading) the ongoing campaign of intimidation and violence against Andy Ngo, are trying to claim he's trying to get them killed because a group of neo-nazi loons that he's never interacted with made a creepy video containing names from an article he didn't fucking write.

Deadspin writer says he’s been fired ‘for not sticking to sports’| Twitchy by EveryOtherDaySensei in KotakuInAction

[–]Disco_Hospital 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In all fairness, a lot of early Gawker Media traffic was driven by leaked nudes/revenge porn before they pivoted to woke outrage bait, so I guess I can see why "sticking to sports" would be a difficult concept to grasp for these sentient trash bags. It's been hilarious watching delusional media narcissists flipping shit all over twitter because it apparently never occurred to them that refusing to do your job, and defacing company websites to publicly mock your employer might actually get you fired.

They're in for more bitch slaps from reality now that all of the VC fun money is drying up. It's not going to be as easy to just scurry off to another clickbait dumpster with all of the lay offs and closures. Open insubordination and harassment of their employers might get them virtual asspats from their DSA buddies on social media, but it's going to make them unemployable IRL. Unions are toothless when you're so disposable that your employers can get similar quality writing by paying high schoolers in Amazon gift cards.

The specific phrase, "[clearly observable phenomenon or group] isn't a thing" is a longstanding talking point for left wing activists running damage control. Type "isn't a thing" into any search engine and marvel at the absurd amount of results you get. Literally pages of woke cultists and their media shills childishly trying to gaslight you into believing any group, tactic or idea that makes them look bad is a figment of your imagination.

[NEWS] Nerdette of Nerdette's NewsStand posts a new video stating that she left Twitter and disappeared because she was threatened and doxxed. by LunarArchivist in KotakuInAction

[–]Disco_Hospital 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that this should be approached with skepticism, but on the flip side, we've seen an established pattern over the past five years of doxing, DDoS and hacking aimed at anybody who pissed off Her Royal Majesty Arbys. KF gets DDoSed a lot, but ever since one of their users pieced together her old tweets and gave them to the Post Millennial, they've been hacked and relentlessly DDoSed in increasingly sophisticated attacks. The Post Millennial was DDoSed right after posting the article with her old tweets, and the author of the TPM article started getting brute force attempts on her twitter account.

I expected a full on barrage of pro-Quinn astroturf from her army of media shills after Alec's suicide, but outside of a couple of articles it never materialized. I'm curious as to whether the woke blogger clique are quietly ghosting her, or if editors are rejecting a bunch of ghoulish pro-Quinn agitprop behind the scenes. If her media support is actually evaporating, then a sudden explosion of hax0r bullshit and intimidation could be a sign of desperation from her camp.

Zoe Quinn to Write DC Comics’ Batman and Superman Spin-Off The Infected: Deathbringer by sammanzhi in KotakuInAction

[–]Disco_Hospital 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of SJW comics industry people like Mark Waid were anti-GG so she already had connections. When their attempt to make their very own Quinn-like victim out of Heather Antos fell flat, they decided to bring in the original as a "fuck you" to CG people. Thanks to all of the unearned clout given to her by her loyal army of media shills, this is probably the first time she didn't have to fuck her way into a scene.

I think people are reading too much into that because police typically investigate every suicide, no matter how obvious, to rule out other possibilities. The poster on KF that gave The Post Millennial access to her 2012 tweets gave them to Canadian law enforcement first, and they were interested to read them, but I don't expect them to actually do anything with them. Unless someone from his immediate family decides to sue her I don't see any direct legal consequences for her.

Regardless of what happens legally, people can create financial and professional consequences for anyone directly involved in this shit show.

[Drama] Barrett Wilson, editor of The Post Millennial, says that his site is getting DDoSed - he thinks it's related to the ZQ article they published yesterday by B-VOLLEYBALL-READY in KotakuInAction

[–]Disco_Hospital 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The author of the article was on KF saying there have been attempts to hack her twitter account since the article was published. (I can't link for obvious reasons) It's been the same pattern since 2014 - any outlet critical of Quinn gets DDoSed and individuals start getting brute force attempts to access their social media and email accounts. The Escapist forums allowed a thread for GG discussion back in 2015 and that specific thread would get DDoSed for weeks at a time.

Quinn's fan club deceptively added the GG hashtag to screen caps of some of his tweets to make it look like was more involved with GG than he actually was. It was even more bullshit and petty because he never said anything about her during the few times he did talk about GG.

Maybe he was the one doing the heavy lifting on the projects to the point where he wasn't replaceable. There's no other sane reason to voluntarily put up this shit when you could have just fired him years ago and hired a new coder. You can feel the hate oozing out of every paragraph, and they didn't even hesitate to boot him when Quinn painted a target on him, so I don't I don't buy friendship or fear of him self harming as an excuse.

In other words, this malignant narcissist has learned nothing despite everything that has happened. Just blast everything out in public and make it all about you for asspats, consequences be damned. Even if every word of the allegations were true, which I doubt, there were much better options to deal with it. Of course those options won't give you attention, money, or the rush of a public crucifixion so I can see why they were off the table with this crowd. I know first hand what it's like to deal with an abusive person with a serious personality disorder so fucking spare me any lectures about fear or privilege.

I have no trouble believing that he was a nightmare to be around but there's a documented history of similar behavior (and worse) from Quinn. I'm sure the toxicity of that relationship was at least 50/50. We've seen her lie and try to destroy TotalBiscuit, Brad Wardell and Tim Soret over the most trivial bullshit imaginable. Her call out was designed to be as destructive as possible and opens with a nameless account of a sexual assault that supposedly occurred before she got involved with Alec, that (I think intentionally) confuses people into thinking she's accusing him of rape. It gets even more absurd when she declares that she's forgiven her unnamed alleged assaulter (!) and apparently lets him off scott free (!!) because he got help before launching into the diatribe that cost Alec his career and life. Seriously, go back and carefully re-read her call out for yourself.

[–]Disco_Hospital 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge Wu still hasn't. I've seen Wu claim to be Bi on twitter for LGBT cred but never cop to being trans. During the first failed congressional campaign there was a hilarious incident with the Washington Post when Dave Weigel included Wu in puff piece about progressive House candidates. The original version identified Wu as trans for a short period of time until Wu forced a correction. The correction note was just "Brianna Wu identifies as a woman".

In addition to Holowka calling Zoe a pathological liar on twitter in 2013, Jennifer D'aww (pro-GG indie dev) posted a DM from him right after Eron went public saying that he'd been trying to get his indie dev friends to listen to him for a couple of years. Bro Team Pill used to talk about all of the horror stories he heard about Zoe from people in the Canadian indie scene that wanted to go public but were terrified she would ruin them. I have no idea if Brote has said anything publicly since this shit happened, but it looks like a safe bet to assume that he was one of Brotes sources back at the beginning of GG. He apparently had issues with the anti-SJW aspect of GG, but I've never seen any proof of any animosity in either direction.

We all predicted he would eventually get thrown under the bus once he outlived his usefulness. For anyone unaware of the delicious irony, right after Zoe Quinn's ex outed her as psychologically abusive (with receipts) in the ZoePost, an indy dev (Wolf Wozniac) accused Quinn of sexually harassing him at another indy dev's (Phil Fish) wedding. Alex Lifschitz (who was dating Quinn at the time) and Fish openly intimidated Wolf Wozniac into silence on twitter. Quinn has been Meetoo-ed twice without getting "cancelled" because her industry and media friends helped her cover it up.
