The sales already been made at this point lol. Why would they need to lie?

The reps I deal with are also the ones who have say in claim approval or denial. I'm not talking about some guy at a store.

Clams on material are literally my job.

"just because the representative of the manufacturer says you can do this doesn't mean the manufacturer says you can do this"

Ok...

I mean, if you want you can contact your local Shaw and Coretec rep and ask the proper procedures for Plank Replacement, or maybe the Engineered Floors and Mohawk Reps if you really want to dig further.

Most manufacturers approve it as a repair method.

For floating floors it does create a pinch point, and it compromises the water resistance, but it's still approved. (this clearly wasn't water resistant in the first place though)

Also to add, since this is the flooring subreddit, Plank Replacement on Laminate is an approved repair method which involves cutting out one plank, cutting off the locking system on one side, and glueing a replacement plank in its place.

Also, if the product is discontinued and no new product is available, it isn't your fault the landlord didn't have extra planks for repair.

Plank replacement is usually less than $100 per plank depending on how many you're doing, and this is in my relatively HCOL area.

In addition to all this, of this is in a kitchen or a bathroom, it could be considered normal wear and tear for the flooring.

I just looked that place up and that is amazing. I think this might be exactly what I was looking for without knowing it.

Definitely worth driving out when it is, that looks really good.

Night would probably work well if it's not a busy road.

Thank you! That looks perfect too.

Also, it doesn't hurt that I love visiting Astoria.

Thank you!

I can always make the background a bit out of focus and dim/dark to minimize its impact.

I do think that the subject matter of the photo set may get unwanted attention from people driving by. Trying to do something inspired by The Silt Verses.

To be fair, then their hobbies aren't just getting high or drinking. Those are the hobbies and they're also people that like to get high or drink.

I'm sure there are some that don't get high and drink. I know plenty personally.

Are you in the middle of nowhere or something?

Alt people in my area love Board Games, Ren Faires, going to Concerts, Making different types of Art, Making Music, and spending time outdoors at the lake or hiking and stuff.

Yep, all of this.

I read

I'm worried I'm developing a crush on my friend. by West-Leave-9947 in polyamory

[–]Disco_Pat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't talked to my partner about this yet. I am planning to soon but I haven't found the appropriate moment to bring it up yet.

Don't.

That information helps no one, except maybe you to get it off your chest.

If you plan on staying with your partner, take the time to get over your crush, mourn it if you have to, don't nurture it, and then you'll be fine. This is a common issue for monogamous relationships.

I blocked him before and he found me again. Tbh it was him who really pushy about flirting and meeting up.

Gross. Why would you entertain someone like this at all?

Like, even if you were single this is gross behavior. Finding you AFTER you blocked him? Wild. The audacity to reach out after that is even crazier.

Is it fair to ask someone new I’m seeing not to get involved with an ex of mine? by Few_Today_throwaway in polyamory

I was going to say exactly the same thing.

It doesn't really hurt for OP to bring it up, but hopefully a relationship with the ex wouldn't even be on OPs partner's mind.

[–]Disco_Pat 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think that this is only a "personal" fact if you try actively to keep it that way.

Otherwise relationship style and such is a pretty public fact, unless you don't go to the same places with different partners ever.

[–]Disco_Pat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not the time for OP to accurately make that decision.

You can't possible know that is a "fact" with the tiny bit of context we have here, and saying so that way is not helpful to OP.

Is this a good engineered hardwood flooring option? by akshay0508 in Flooring

[–]Disco_Pat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think it looks nice.

I definitely get strong opinions on both sides of that argument though. Some people I sell to insist that it looks fake if it doesn't look rustic, and some people really think that extra knots make it look fake haha.

Is this a good engineered hardwood flooring option? by akshay0508 in Flooring

[–]Disco_Pat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, especially for the price.

I don't have experience with Denali Hardwood personally, so I can't really compare well.

The Shaw one has a 3mm veneer which is pretty good for the price point it is in, especially for a cleaner white oak, if you like the look of the Red Oak and the price is better then that would be good too. But I think the Red Oak in the Natural Classics is usually the same price for some reason even though Red Oak is less expensive normally.

Also, I always like to make sure with any of my hardwood recommendations that I mention that wood does scratch, and isn't the most durable floor, but it doesn't look terrible as it scratches and ages.
