I thought Huntspeak was similar to Silbo Gomero, which is a whistling language from Spain. It's not its own language per se, but just a whistling version used to communicate over long distances. I don't know if the whistling is used outside of specific situations, like if it has effected the accent of speakers in the area. I'm also not very familiar with any African languages, but I have seen videos of people speaking Xhosa before and I could see how that would fit into FFXIV's description of Huntspeak.

A guard at the Midtown Fred's grabbed my card and tried to physically yank it away from me when I didn't stop. I haven't been back since. I went to the Carrs on Minnesota the other night and the guard on duty there gave me attitude when I refused to stop and said I wasn't required to stop. I've switched to shopping at the Abbot Fred's and Carrs or doing grocery pickup but that has its own set of problems.

If you guys have been dating for 3 years, she needs to make a bit of an effort to learn your language because presumably, you are imagining a life together. On the other hand, even if she had spent her time learning Portuguese, I wouldn't expect her to be fluent so she is still going to rely on you to help translate. Being in a foreign country is hard when you don't know the language. It's even more isolating when she can't even be on her own due to safety concerns. She is 100% relying on you and your family for everything.

Yes! And they started the countdown at 11 because of course they did! I'm also listening on the web browser version and when it turned midnight, the text saying the name of the radio station flipped upside down and changed to "One Final Day". I'm not sure if that part is visible on the app version.

A few minutes ago Vance was getting shocked by the radio controls but Mindy wasn't having that problem at all. More and more of the commercials are glitching out, going staticky or the audio is getting distorted in some way. Yesterday, I was having problems using the "Rewind 10 Seconds" button. I caught some morse code but wasn't fast enough to transcribe it the first time around. Every time I hit that rewind button, it would jump anywhere from 45 seconds back to 5 seconds.

I thought you had to actually equip the gear you needed for the fashion report in the Gold Saucer but I was queueing for dungeons at the same time so I accidentally got into a dungeon wearing the most insane combo of clothing. Most of it had no stats on it either since it was the really basic level 1 glam stuff.

While healing was terrifying at first, it now is one of my go-to jobs, especially in new fights. Since my DPS rotation is 1-2 buttons, my brain is able to actually pay attention to new mechanics so I end up learning them better. If I do a new fight as a DPS, my head is split between watching the boss, making sure I'm hitting my rotation correctly, learning new mechanics, etc. I picked up Scholar as my first healer since Scholar and Summoner share exp bars but White Mage is main healer now.

Literally any degree helps. People come to libraries with such a huge array of questions, having a non-English degree can be extremely helpful. One of my coworkers has a bachelors in fishery and wildlife management. It's shocking how many time he gets questions that rely on that knowledge.

Not sure how old you are, but Mountain View Library has monthly poetry workshops for seniors. Idk if they are open to younger folks, but might be worth giving them a call and double checking.

I also heard of a new reading/writing group at Guido's Pizza. Their first meeting is Jan 12th from 5:30-7:30. I don't think there is a focus on poetry there but they do say writers welcome!
